Fernandinho is a holding midfielder and is much more creative and hard-working on defence. DeJong was also a holding midfielder, but tackled like a tiger. That's what defending the back four is.

Again, if you are satisfied with Garcia passively lumbering up the field and playing the odd short pass, then don't expect championships.

No he isn't.

He is. From the horse's mouth.

nobody is arguing that garcia should start over fernandinho.

javi garcia reads the game better than michael carrick.

stats for last season:

javi garcia :

interceptions per minute - 0.02

blocked shots per minute - 0.01

clearances per minute - 0.04

michael carrick:

interceptions per minute - 0.02

blocked shots per minute - 0.006

clearances per minute - 0.02

---

javi garcia also has a higher tackling succes rate and is stronger in the air.

i have completely debunked the idea that javi garcia is a bad defensive midfielder.

No you haven't he is shit

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

He's not shit, he's just not good enough for City. Never will be.

yes, Carrick would be a decent squad player.

A defensive midfielder who can made hollywood passes like Fernandinho would cost a fortune.

That wasn't the point. It was a response to someone saying he's a holding midfielder so don't expect creativity or anything special. As i said earlier, if that's your standard, then don't expect premier league titles. Plain and simple.

he is right, fernandinho isn;t just a holding midfielder. he can also play box to box.

So far this season in the league we have played 11 and won 19 points at an average of 1.7 points per match
Garcia has started 5 matches from which we have won 4 points at an average of 0.8 points per match
Which by my reckoning means in the 6 matches he hasn't started we have won 15 points at an average of 2.5 points per match

So as we all know that statistics cannot be questioned, I'd say that if Garcia starts every match this season we will get relegated and if starts none we are in the title race.

I have completely debunked the idea that Garcia is a useful member of the squad.

Re: Javi Garcia (merged)

If he's fit for the spurs game will he play ? Hmmmm he was subbed in the last game due to injury so I guess we wait
