Re: Javi Garcia (merged)
Funnily enough that is actually measured:
Times dribbled against per game on average:
Fernandinho 2.4
Rodwell 2
Yaya 1.8
Javi Garcia 0.3
(not that I'm saying he's anywhere near as good as those two excellent players)
Imo he doesn't actually get beaten more often than anyone else (actually much less as the stat indicates) but a lack of agility, speed and support exaggerate those incidents.
Poor Javi getting another rough deal.

The only point I was trying to make re the 'scapegoat' thing was that, as with other blues, get fed up with those that seem to choose a particular player to slag off and make a scapegoat for defeats and there have been a long list of those over the years, from Ian Bowyer to Richard edghill to Javi garcia. For those, including the guy that came out with the 'we never win when Garcia plays' stats crap, that is complete and utter crap and you know it ! Let's 'drill down' a bit further into those games where we lost when Garcia played shall we ? Cardiff away, mistakes by Zabaleta and hart cost us that game. Villa, a mistake by a linesman and then a total cock up by captain fantastic and Nastasic cost us that game. Chelsea away, a total cock up by Hart cost us that game ( is a pattern emerging ? ) Garcia played well at Chelsea and we were drawing when he was taken off but some bell end on here even said the goal was his fault !! Finally, Sunderland away, Garcia was taken off at HT after a horrendous tackle by a Sunderland player that should have been a red card, Richards ballsed up ( out of position yet again ) and we lost. So breaking this seasons defeats down, how many of them have personally been the fault of Javi Garcia ? Answer none. That is what p****s decent fans off.
That's a good post.
In his entire time at the club Garcia has arguably made less costly mistakes than any of defensive the players around him. Unfortunately he's not done too many eye catching things either.
Steady, unspectacular, reliable and most definitely the player who takes the most pot shots when posters want to show their incredible wit.
How do you measure the number of times attacking players run past him to create a goal scoring opportunity? He's not reliable at all in that respect.
