Would he be first choice for the following.
Spain
Germany
France
Italy
Argentina
Brazil
Portugal
Belguim

Its not a Hart bash, just which of those countries would be first choice.

When really asked what? We're still talking about his distribution right?

You are still it seems.

I talking about his whole game, you chose to pick that up and then trawl the internet to get figures.

Joe Hart when it comes to kicking and throwing the ball out is bad and has been for a few year. Figures can be used either way. You detail 52% of his distribution in the premier is classed as good, well that means also that 48% is bad. So in two kicks of the ball one is a bad in one. The one that was good could be a 5 yard pass to Otamendi which amounts to nothing, is that where we going with this?

When really asked he failed in that two shots on target which should be easy saves for any goalkeeper he let in.

Lets put is this way, anyone who has seen a Pep team should know that he has his goalkeeper on the edge of his area to cut out any long balls, he expects them to be able to pass the ball out to someone in their own team, not just hoof it and hope. Joe is going to have to work hard and could be out.

The only two where he definitely wouldn't is Italy and Germany, the rest is debatable.

I got as far as you saying that I detail 52% as good, gave up after that because I didn't do anything of the sort.

As Ric and others have noted, some hate coming from Herbert and Ogden this morning. Who needs balance when you can write rubbish.

Herbert just goes for character assassination:
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...t-epitomises-everything-that-is-a7106591.html

Ogden is reliably Ogden:
"Hopeless defending, a lack of attacking intelligence and the latest example of Hart’s accelerated decline as an international-class goalkeeper saw England throw away their golden start"

That Independent one is a disgraceful character assassination of the only decent goalkeeper England has at the present time.

For me he is a bit of a 'Billy Big Bollocks' and has been since Mancini left.
Generally a very good 'shot stopper' (last night excluded) but pretty much average in most other departments.
It would come as no surprise if Pep moves him on.

His mix up with Nastasic
His mix up with Kolo Toure
His pass to Fernando
Him vs Bayern(3-1 loss)
Spilled a soft cross straight to Andy King to tap in
Adam Johnson vs us
Ball trickled through his legs vs Southampton for a tap in
Has dropped many a cross that have led to goals hence why he punches all the time now

Multiple mistakes for England
When Hart makes a major mistake he is often Baled out by his superior teammates.
Notwithstanding that
there were many instances when City's top class players save Joe's bacon from being fried to wit the last minute goals to win our first PL title.
His saving percentages are poor when we compared that with other PL goalies.
Joe's individual awards are won because he is playing on a team that is superior to the opponents -defending or scoring goals.
You can understand why Mancini was shopping for a good gk then.

You can keep on deluding and making excuses for Joe based on parochial or sentimental reasons.

The fact is that Hart is not good enough for us to play with Tier 1 opponents. We need a Tier 1 GK.
That's the top priority. We can't keep changing our stalwart defense to augment or make up for Hart's deficiencies or poor football nous and skills.

If not NOW when?

Guys this "He is the best we ever had" stuff needs to end. If you had a Fiat Uno brand new you would love that car. You would call it your car and the best car you have ever had. Then you get a promotion and more money is pouring in. Suddenly that Fiat is no longer good enough. Does not mean you hate it you just get a better car to go with your status.

Joe Hart is the Uno he was good for us but we have moved up in status and he is no longer the best we can have or even deserve.

They're both the Indie - chief football writer (Ogden) and chief sports writer (Herbert).
Yes, it's appalling, and they both have form in this area.

I almost get the impression that you don't rate Hart, as you've said so dozens of times now.

Who exactly replaces him? How does it fit our homegrown player CL profile?

Percentages and save stats are meaningless without the context of how tough the saves were. Ten pearollers or one top corner screamer?

Cogently expressed

I'm on the fence with Hart I think i'd be happy if he stayed or if we upgraded. Shocker last night though

Possibly Spain, Argentina, France, Brazil and Portugal. Nobody will replace Buffon until he can't walk and Courtois didn't exactly cover himself in glory last season

And so the vultures come out, feasting on the rotten carcass of media fed bullshit and a bad performance
'Look at that mistake, what a twat. We should sell. My paraplegic grandad could do better to his left hand side. Not a patch on De Gea'
It's interesting to me that recently city fans have taken to hurling abuse at our own players when they've had a bad game instead of getting behind them.
Time and time again Joe has pulled it off when it matters and when it doesn't. Time and time again Joe has proven what a good leader he is but instead people see this passion as a weakness because they're desperate to see him fail to prove themselves right.
De gea made a fucking clanger last night and Spain were eliminated but of course because the media don't report it as much the idiots on here absorb it and spit it like acid through their teeth at one of our own.

People really need to get a grip. He is by no stretch of the imagination bad as some of you say he is

Good post.

I'm only going to have a quick look at this thread but it will not doubt folow the usual theme when it comes to conversations about Joe on here.

I played football recreationally, the only league I ever featured in was the Manchester Chartered Accountants Student Society one so diving about in the mud and puddles at Hough End was the height of my goalkeeping career but when you make a mistake that costs your team, it sucks and, 30 years on, I can still remember thos few moments as opposed to any saves! Hart made one error last night, not even an especially bad one technically and certainly not the only mistake by an England player in respect of Iceland's winner but he was the last line of defence and he should have stopped it so he bears the brunt; such is a goalkeeper's lot. However, the fact is his team mates generally played worse than him.

I rate Hart highly but I'm tired of going round in circles debating him and will simply wait to see what Pep makes of him.
