Dont you think Pep and Txiki will be talking with each othervon transfers?Pep won't be happy about this. Txiki doesn't deliver often enough as far as I'm concerned.

Probably me , but can you explain what you meanWhy is £50m ridiculous when we'll make it back in a month?
You're going to catch a few with that post. Top fishingTransfer-wise it's been a poor summer*. This SHOULD turn on its head the next week or so, though we've been saying that for a couple weeks in a row now.
Not going to throw all the toys out the pram now since it's not even August, but squad as it stands right now is no better than it was in May. Just older. Better coached, mind.
* so far
What makes you think any of those players would want to go? They have contracts with us and cannot be forced against their wishesSurely we can play hard here and offer a compromise with the proviso that they take one or two off our hands - if not Bony, maybe Kolarov & Delph plus £40m

If a player's heart is not in it, it's a stupid strategy to play tough, especially if you mis-read your opponent as their performance will dip and it affects the team. All the players, not just Stones will know the situation. Pricing a player out of our transfer when he has twice requested a move is not going to go down well. You have some duty towards the player after he's given you 12 months. Fair enough if City were trying to take advantage but at £40m plus that's really not the case.Everton have the stronger hand here:
1. They have new richer owners
2. Stones has a contract that sees him through to 2019 and he'll be worth the same or more next year
3. Homegrown players go for double
4. City need homegrown players desperately and a ball playing centre back. There isn't a homegrown alternative
5. Sterling went for similar
But we don't, hence Pogba, Hazard et all arent at City.If we have taken this stance we have to see it through. If we end up paying the full whack again we will continually find ourselves being held to ransom.
There may be as many examples of players we didn't overpay for and were proved right. I can't think of any but there might be. I trust the club.But we don't, hence Pogba, Hazard et all arent at City.
If we bought a CB for £4m from some Croatian team, 4/5ths of this forum would top themselves.There will be some great unknown defenders out there smaller teams are going to pick up for a few mill. It would be nice if we could get one of these every now and then. I would rather punt ten mill than punt £35-40 mill like we have done.
Stones will be a real gamble but figure if we really want him then the starting price for any players seems to be thirty mill nowadays. We will end up paying what they want, even if it is dressed up as add ons.
Exactly. I was just saying we've walked away lots of times.There may be as many examples of players we didn't overpay for and were proved right. I can't think of any but there might be. I trust the club.
