but for him to make a press conference means he was considering it even if it may have been for money and surely thats not gone down too well with the rentboys ?

The issue for me is they blindly copy each other's lies because they are the laziest bastard journos in history and can't be bothered to make some enquiries for themselves. I agree with you, but the reason it happens is to make money. Simply reporting an incident doesn't capture the publics imagination, the job is to exaggerate or fictionalise reports as a way of capturing the imagination of the public and make them part with their money every day.
The newspapers make me sick, especially the Daily Express and Daily Mail, though, that's mainly for their political coverage rather than their sports coverage.
