I think some of you ought to go back a few pages on this thread, and actually try reading what was going on here last night instead of just jumping in with both feet in your gobs.

More is less.

What was going on? I'm too lazy, sorry

Never thought he was but not because I read anything in a paper ? especially any that run that hes staying on one page and going on another. Before you completely transform into an arsehole realise I was just pointing out the inconsistency and how useless even the broadsheets are.
Fucking sphincter !

You have a lovely way with words!

You appeared to need explanations in a manner you can understand. Shouting is usually the give away.

Im of the opinion that this is still on for a couple of reasons?

1)No direct quotes in any of the stories

2) 2 chelsea players (Drogba and Mikel) have come out to the press in the last two days and either signed or confirmed that they will be signing extended contracts. Chelsea the club captain still hasnt

Everyone seems to be saying "these articles mean nothing".... "but he isn't coming anyway".

I don't buy that. I am think 70% chance he's coming.

He's clearly not 100% happy at Chelsea or he would have come out ages ago and quashed all these rumours. And if he signs another contract with them, he can resign himself to hanging up his boots there, which he may well be very uncomfortable doing.

At the same time, whatever Chelsea offer him, he knows he's having to take a massive sacrifice on his earnings to stay there. And he looks over the fence and sees us signing Barry, Tevez, Adebayor etc. And narrowly missing out on Kaka and Etoo.

He's probably thinking "my God they will probably sign Messi in January and they are going to be winning EVERYTHING over the next 3~5 years". Everyone else is secretly thinking that! (WOOT WOOT!) "And I have to sit here on less pay with that miserable cnut Abramovich leering at me. No thanks, I am off."

Even if we don't get Terry, we could possibly look good in all this.

The fact were still in with a chance speaks volumes and if he's holding out for a new contract we will come up trumps, with Terry looking like the villain of all this then we can move onto our next target(s).

If he is interested though, obviously he can request a move and we could perhaps get him for a knockdown price, rather than the £50m that has been quoted and have the England captain in our ranks to raise our profile.

I feel with been very clever with this transfer and can't wait for the result either way!

BBC Radio Manchester saying they can't seem to source it beyond some Chelski propoganda started on Monday by the chav-in-chief, Anchalotti. It was mentioned almost in passing but it's interesting, nonetheless. Wouldn't be the first time Chelski came out with a load of crap that the papers then repeated and embellished.

THE SILENCE IS DEAFENING.

What have you done with the real Meldrew?

John Terry is a ****.

If he had wanted to stay so badly, he would have come out and said so straight away and not played with the minds of many a Chelsea fan.

If he wanted to go, he would have made it clear by now, the silence is bullshit, it serves no purpose other than to strengthen his own position in regards to fueling media speculation and negotiating a new contract.

Why are we still there? Eto'o would have been just as big (imo bigger) signing and we walked away when that deal looked more hopeful. JT imo has shown his true colours and he has hardly endeared himself to either Chelsea or City fans... His accountant might like him even more, but he'll be an even bigger **** than he already is.

LOL, then went to work. Bet you all any money that this story will not have been progressed by the time I get home.

I have to say I do agree with this.

But that said, he's still a fantastic player and leader and there's still a very good chance we could get him, so to pull out because he's played his cards well would be cutting off our nose to spite our face.

lol would you consider the independant "the informed press" ! (see above)

How about The Times The Telegraph etc etc....................
Get used to it HE AIN'T COMING!

Not one single newspaper in the country has an accuracy rate worth bragging about. Far from it in fact, so what makes you so utterly convinced by the accuracy of this story?

im now of the opinion that this deal is completely 50/50, theres no concrete evidence each way...

chelsea players seem to be saying he'll stay, a couple seem to be preparing everyone for his departure, and JT says absolutely nothing...

either way im not fussed about this deal, if we get him amazing! ill be made up, if we dont ill be more than happy with lescott and ned starting at the back against Blackburn!

this is spot on. i wouldn't do 'a fergie' and say that he's overrated, not worth the money, etc if we don't get him, as he's a great CB and ingerlund captain.

however if i was a chelsea fan, i wouldn't be that happy with 'mr chelsea' as real commitment would have been to say right at the start of all this 'i don't want to move, i'm not using this to bump my contract up as i recognise i'm a luck boy who would be flipping burgers or doing time at her maj's if i couldn't kick a football.'

his apparent stance will only hit the chelsea ticket buyer in the long run.

I don't agree. Terry has not done anything wrong really. He hasn't said a word in public, he hasn't slagged Chelsea off, he hasn't laughed off the idea of joining City which, to be truthful would have happened a few years ago. My opinion is that he is using City to get more cash from Chelsea, but this happens all over the place, in any job. Until he comes out and says what he's gonna say, I'm gonna wait to make my mind up about him.

(Just read that back and it sounds like I'm a Chelski fan....!)

As city fans we can always be optimistic so until he comes out and says he isn't coming, it's still on

I aint, nearly 40 years of supporting City has made me a right pessimistic, miserable sod lol.
Although i think all that is likely to change over the next few years :-D

We must be of a similar age - my missus was really happy about the takeover news as she knows how my moods are affected by CITY and at least I should no be positive - now she is pissed off because this close season I am a man obsessed - always on the internet!!
