Amidst all this I find it interesting he's willing to drop down from guaranteed starter. He must really be dissatisfied with mid table life.
 
He's never getting a 140k, he won't even get half of that. He's the one making the step up here, we're in the position of power when it comes to contract negotiations.

Hilarious some are trying to defend this potential transfer. In fact your defending Evans much better than he can in a game. £20M + for Jonny Evans is utter stupidity. He's 30 in January, never been class and never will.

There was no problem with Gatito! We knew we were getting tons of quality. With Evans we are getting an alternative to Ryan Shawcross. They're OK, if I have my blue tinted specs on the side, but they are nothing more. And JE is an ex-Ragamuffin who has very little to offer the F"OCs in CBL3 that would get them to drop their flasks and have them out of their seat with Baresi-esque defending!

We need an home grown defender for the 25 man squad. Find a better alternative

He's a decent player who can cover at centre back for Kompany or play in a back 3. Criticism is most unfair. Arsenal were in for him. I suppose Wenger is an idiot as well.

Wenger has always been shit when it comes to defense so you answered your own question there. we do not need a home grown CB when we want a CB a LB and a DM so better alternatives are Mings home grown Jullien foreign or possably Vogt foreign then buy Henry home grown
