Jose Mourinho.

No probs, Billy, been on here long enough to know the score!

I've posted previously various snippets of info I get - sometimes good, sometimes way off the mark. Was told Kolo Toure was supposedly coming back in January by a couple of legal buds! Almost got that one!

I can no way claim to be fully ITK, but for that matter, heard even Garry Cook may not be either on this matter.

Just that a window of opportunity may have presented itself and the people who call the shots can't look the other way.

Actually, I remember you posting the Kolo Toure thing...and to be honest, I think it was simply the injuries Arsenal got in those last few weeks of the transfer window that stopped him coming to us...

Interesting that there are whispers of a window of opportunity with Jose...I wonder if it has anything to do with his own contract at Inter...if he did come here, I would wager my house that Mancini would go straight back there...

Also, interesting what you say about Cook...can you elaborate any on that?

I'd guess that if Hughes goes then Cook goes too.

I agree with you BS, however, what if ADUG could go to Mourinho & say somehtin along the lines of "We've already got player x & y in the bag"?

Well, looking at our squad, to challenge for the title next season we'd need players U, V W, X, Y, and Z. And they'd need to be the likes of Kaka, Benzema, Ibra, Terry, Chiellini, and Ramos...

But hey, we can afford them...so it matters only whether the combination of the "project" and the manager, can convince them to come and give up a season in the champions league...

I'm sceptical. Mancini is a far more realistic managerial target to my mind...

Oh so do I. I see the club hasn't issued any warning to the paper that published the story linking us with him the other day. Interesting.
That's because the story actually said that Mancini would like to manage City, not that we'd approached him.

This story...
MARK Hughes’ future as Man City boss is in further doubt after Roberto Mancini was reported to be behind a £16m Blues swoop for Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Argie striker is being offered £60,000 a week to switch to Eastlands say reports in Italy.

And it is claimed ex-Inter boss Mancini is behind the developments amid speculation the Italian is being lined up to take over from Hughes in the summer.

Lavezzi, 24, has hit seven Serie A goals this term and has a big reputation in Italy.

He was dubbed the new Maradona for scoring a hat-trick on his debut for Napoli but sees himself more as a Carlos Tevez-type.

The news of Manciniís involvement will be another blow for Hughes.

He has spent the last six months denying his position is under threat at Eastlands but speculation over a successor has never gone away.

Honestly, I can't see Cook going anywhere...he's just brought in more support staff for himself. If anything, it will be Cook who turns on Hughes. He may have been Cook's guy initially - but ADUG have changed the vision of the club. Cook could just as easily be saying to our owners that a change is needed because as capable as Hughes is, their resources require a different kind of manager...

Entirely possible on Cook, but personally think he will be staying put - that's not to say his job description and mandate hasn't changed out of all recognition since he came in and appointed Hughes.

That's the only dilemma as far as I can see for Cook. A good operator who is getting up to speed all the time with the workings of the game, just that he won't be in the loop until needs be nowadays.

He has personally backed Hughes before, but those type of comments have been few and far between since January - as they have been with anyone of any standing at the club.

But Cook has showed a glimpse of what side his bread will be buttered - you may remember how he insisted Hughes would have to get out of his comfort zone very quickly when it came to signing top players he did not know.

I believe someone has already unwittingly hit the nail on the head in this thread. X, Y, Z, A, B, C, all up for grabs with regards of man of Jose's standing.

Was told we're going for the league/champs quali. Jesus, I know how ridiculous this all sounds, it did when I heard it.
