We are never going to be able to negotiate 2 big transfers like that in 1 window. We haven't done that for over 5 years
2022 We signed Haaland for 52 and Phillips for 40.
2020 we signed Ake and Dias both for chunky money
2019 we signed Cancelo and Rodri same
2017 we signed so many players
2016 stones sane and gundo.

It's something we've done almost every year since pep came. I don't believe we're short on resources.

Big transfers are £50mil plus surely. But regardless...

Haaland was a release clause
Dias fair enough
Rodri was a release clause. Cancelo fair enough.

2017 *checks notes* was over 5 years ago

Simply agreeing with me would have saved time

Ha. Fair enough. I suppose If we're putting arbitrary figures on things I say anything over 10 million pounds is a big transfer and I'm right, coz I'm so desperate to be right. Also, what changed 5 years ago where we stopped being able to buy multiple players in a window?

I see it as nobody last summer thought Phillips was a big signing, similarly to the Ake deal although that has worked out quite well.

I think it was more to do with us having the squad to be selective in the market so we didn't need to splash out. For the first time in years it feels like a bit of a refresh is needed. We could do with 3 big signings regardless of if Walker leaves and dragging the first in Gvardiol out for a month doesn't bode well

@vanchi
Anything to report?
Has he bought any hair gel or a morning paper?
Is he still in Croatia or back with Leipzig?

Just that a few on here are wetting the bed about all this( not me of course)
actually yes, he’s on the road, so is he just driving home from somewhere or is he on his way to germany perhaps? i know nothing :D
(well my dinamo won the supercup tonight so at least some great football news for me :D)

How long is a piece of string?

What came first, the Chicken, egg or Gvardiol?

Still doesn’t sound conclusive though? I thought we would go full steam this summer on our A targets but if true our first offer was £64m plus add ons and they want £86m then imo we aren’t doing it

Full steam into FFP trouble like other teams?

They want to finish us with the 115 charges.. so we have to be smart and not walk into a trap..

We have passed on so many players.. if that's what's needed with Gvardiol.. I"m absolutely fine with it.

We'll find a way to make it work.. maybe with keeping Ake and Ayme.

That didn’t last long.
What exactly have I said or done that is different from what everyone else? Am I allowed to discuss points that everyone else is as well, or am I looked at in a different light for some reason?
As always, the ignore button is right there
