If City signed him, we'd know straight away from Celta Vigos camp, as it's a clause... Doubt it.
To be fair, most of what comes from Gaughan is from the club. Sam Lee also got good contacts (shown this window) regarding outgoings.

Txiki will know these guys personally so if its done its done and they would respect the silence.
Very out of character deal for us though tbf. That's the only one and bernardo I can think of that moved that quickly.

Not having a pop at you mate, but we are not buying a box of chocolates off the shelf at Tesco. As I said a few days back, treat each deal as buying a house where a chain exists and to get to completion, all parties have to be satisfied, not just us
I don't know how much logic is behind that statement tbf, mate. It's perhaps gone quiet because his agent was spouting shit mostly at the start of the window. No one is biting for a reason.

Ortega and Akanji were signed like in a day or two. No one knew tbf. Longer deals and interest usually gets told by Mike and Jack.
Alvarez, im pretty sure it firstly came from Argentina then Jack and co got the nod from the club to post on it.
Gaughan seems to be used when the club want to put something out in the press rather than him knowing anything that he shouldnt know tbf

Thats true mate and i fully understand the complexity in deals to a point as i`ve been involved in some deals over the years going into millions of pounds but obviously not in the football world. We are just at the top of the tree now and may only have Pep for two more years where i think we agree it cannot be better than the last 5 years probably ever so lets refresh and give Pep the appetite to build his next City that may entice him to stay another year or two? We wanted Bellingham and Rice and still want Josko so it looks like there was a rebuild for Pep to oversee on the next generation of star to go with the likes of Erling, Phil, Rico etc? Certainly not having a go at the club. more just an observation i guess things are a bit behind imo where the club hoped to be at in the window?

Ortega was done quickly? I disagree. What happened was news leaked that we were signing him out of nowhere. People were caught by surprise. But clearly the club knew in advance they weren’t keeping Steffen and had scouted this guy in Germany for awhile.

He could never replace Bernardo though could he? I just wonder if Veiga could be a Pep project signing for the money?
Regardless, Jack and Mike pretty much are City mouthpieces through the media.
Veiga isn't even close to Bernardos profile... Zero chance they are aligned. Phillips going is also looking impossible.
