Jude Bellingham

I do think there’s a general disparity in the way the English press report on certain black players. It was clearly evident with Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford. Not sure Jude Bellingham is the hill Ian Wright should die on though. Maybe I just pay less attention to newspapers these days, but from what I’ve seen the level of vitriol is nowhere near what Sterling, in particular, received.
I don't think the media attention rashford receives is down to him been black.
He has a great pr team
And he played for the rags.

They tried it with dizzy jazz hands until they realised that was a waste of time as he had less talent than even rashford

One thing that seems to being overlooked in the Sterling case is that he made the fatal media mistake of moving from Liverpool to City. Whatever he did he would not be forgiven for that.

I don’t get it.

So us white folk are fine with black players like Kante because he’s not arrogant and is a model professional?

BUT us white folk aren’t fine with black players who are arrogant and a bit cuntish at times?
Speaking as a white man in his sixties, I'm not fine with any player, who is arrogant and full of himself and is more interested in his own self-promotion than what is best for his team, whether he is black, white, brown, pink or green.

How about the level of vitriol on here though ? And no way on earth do I think it’s anything to do with his colour - but the pages and pages of abuse he particularly gets after every match is something I’ve perceived to be unfair.

Exactly the point I’m trying to make, the answer doesn’t change because of somebody’s skin colour, it changes because of other factors such as arrogance and being a prick.

Yet again all the middle aged white blokes have become experts on race! I'm with Ian Wright lol

The hate for Bellingham on here has always been over the top. It's usually the msm destroying these guys but these days its social media too. See Sterling and Rashford. Also Frank Bruno. And many more!

What do you mean? Have you read any post on here and thought that's got racism running right through it when it comes to Bellingham?

Brunos a weird example to bring up, he's been a national treasure as long as I can remember.

Agree some of the comments on here towards Bellingham have been over the top at times but racist? I've never seen that. But then I'm not an expert on race. Middle aged white bloke though I may be.

This is where the media have done the lad a huge disservice in the first place by billing him up so much over the years, he'd have to be Messi/Ronaldo levels of outstanding to be able to live up to the expectations that the media has set on him.

So when he doesn't perform to this God like status that he carries with him then people jump all over it. Especially when they see things like the mardy reaction to being hooked the other day (in a game he was given man of the match as well bizarrely).

I don’t understand why so many care if the media bill someone up so much - I’ve always ignored the media hype. I just watch England and want all players to do well regardless if they’re good or not, or have a bit of an attitude or even play for spurs! I rarely look at headlines and match reports and if I noticed the media giving a player more hype then usual then I really couldn’t care.

It’s been reported that he snubbed City and said he’d never play for that ‘plastic’ club. If that is true then I’m not at all surprised he gets the criticism he does on here. He is also in direct competition for a place in the England squad with City’s Golden boy Phil Foden. Of course being an arrogant dislikable **** doesnt help his cause.

As for his colour. Ffs!!!

Sorry mate, but depending on your age you don't know what it takes for your own team to be successful. Those I see defending him in the press or wherever, talk about the 'big moments', but to be successful teams need players who are more than that - City fans have lived success and know that.

Bellingham is a throwback to the Sven era of big name players who couldn't play together. He can't play with Phil, because over the last few years he's probably made about 5 passes to him. That isn't a team player, thats a player out for himself. The media generally love it because they are desperate for those kind of stars, so they've built him up to be something he isnt. Which is why so many are now pointing out his deficiencies.

I personally think his best role for England would be off the bench when needed, but unfortunately it doesn't seem like he has the personality to do that without potentially causing problems in a happy squad. It's a difficult one for Tuchel, but he's got time and any number of players could get injured, so he needs options still at this point.

That's fair, but it isn't just the paper media, it's every single commentator gushing about him when he actually keeps giving the ball away. Nobody calls it out.

This was widely reported at the time and so if we believe that to be true , then we are at the root of our rejection.

That said , he is a complete mard arsed **** of a boy who has one of those faces you would never get tired of punching.

He has hovered the line constantly throughout his young career , but when he whispered in his England captain’s ear before the penalty during their club ECL clash, there was no coming back for me.

He will rightly end up at the cult

So why has he exceeded, worked within a team and bought so much success with Dortmund and Madrid ? If he can link up with likes of Junior, Mbappe and Rodrygo - why can't it work with likes of Rashford,Foden and Saka ?
