As a DM Phillips.Would we rather have Phillips or DeJong
There is a reason we dont do those sort of challenges , we dont play like that , he would be sent off every weekYeah I probably could have worded my post a little differently. Firm but fair is right. He loves a solid tackle and will put his foot in where some of our midfield wouldn’t want to or actually do. He’s also someone who could get a flat atmosphere going with one of those types of challenges
He doesn’t play CDM for West Ham.Don’t want Kalvin Phillips. Overrated. Mistakes in him. Pressing teams like Liverpool will kick the ball off him every time.
It’s not my money so go hell for leather for the Rolls Royce that is a Declan Rice. Absolutely the best CDM out there not playing Champions League.
That’s just a conspiracy theory. There is a reason we dont do those sort of challenges , we dont play like that , he would be sent off every week
Absolute hyperbole, and complete nonsenseHe's fucking useless.
They also don't tackle much as we have the ball for 70% of the game and we normally win it back by pressing and forcing the opposition to just give it us back with a rushed misplaced pass. That’s just a conspiracy theory.
Our players don’t tackle much as a tackle means their positioning was wrong. We intercept, not tackle, as much as possible.
A lot of people didn't think Rodri would, I assume Pep always believed he would, the same probably applies to Phillips or anyone we buy for that position. They also don't tackle much as we have the ball for 70% of the game and we normally win it back by pressing and forcing the opposition to just give it us back with a rushed misplaced pass.
Playing the role he will is not about tackling, its being able to control the whole way we play and linking defense to attack. Fern was a master at it and Rodri has now developed over two seasons to be able to do it incredibly well. The big question is whether Phillips can do it.
I was one of them and now rate him as good as anyone in the world at that position.A lot of people didn't think Rodri would, I assume Pep always believed he would, the same probably applies to Phillips or anyone we buy for that position.
Remember when Pep was ridiculed when he first came here when he said he didn’t coach tackling? They also don't tackle much as we have the ball for 70% of the game and we normally win it back by pressing and forcing the opposition to just give it us back with a rushed misplaced pass.

We don’t make those challenges because we don’t have the personnel to, which is why Phillips would be a good addition to the squad. He offers us something we don’t currently haveThere is a reason we dont do those sort of challenges , we dont play like that , he would be sent off every week
Go and watch De Jong play, then you'll have your answer. De Jong is in a different stratosphere to Phillips.Would we rather have Phillips or DeJong
You and me Willipp.I was one of them and now rate him as good as anyone in the world at that position.
And De Jong offers nothing defensively and is a completely different type of midfielder than the type we’re after.Go and watch De Jong play, then you'll have your answer. De Jong is in a different stratosphere to Phillips.
Stan Collymore like this tweetThat’s just a conspiracy theory.
