I’m not exactly bursting with excitement to see Phillips in our team, as unless he’s costing us very little due to a release clause (which doesn’t seem to be the case now Leeds avoided relegation) I think we can do a lot better for the money.
That said, of all the options people are chucking about at the moment, none of them are English - and we know Pep likes the core of all his teams to be from the country he’s managing in.
He did this with Barca and with Bayern - and part of the attraction to bringing the likes of Stones, Walker and Grealish (and even Scott Carson) into the team under his watch was their Nationality.
Whilst this clearly doesn’t rule out signing players from the rest of the world (we’ve signed loads under Pep), I’d imagine it’s part of the appeal in Phillips for Pep which none of these other names can bring.

I hope he stays at Leeds. I'm not a fan if we do what the Rags used to do and just hoover up other English teams home grown talent. Do we really have no one in our youth ranks who can do what Kalvin-Phillips does?

I don't know, @Big Dave Watson has started to get a few wrong recently.
Every team in every major league has a player who can do what Kalvin Phillips does, they're not exactly rare. I would have expected us to be looking for someone who has a bit more to offer so this potential signing really surprises me.I hope he stays at Leeds.
