England play two defensive midfielders. His role for England is a completely different world to how he'd have to play for us in place of Bernardo or KDB
Its might be, but he can still play a box-to-box midfielder as an 8. Stating 'he can only play a 6' is bollox.

Me neither but I also thought Rodri was a flop and a poor signing, glad to have been proved wrong and if we sign the kid, I will be happy to be wrong again.
I was the biggest Rodri happy clapper. Before we got him ( as in back when the Tanguy Ndobele was the rage around these parts) I was one of the 2 guys who kept saying we really should be looking at Rodri instead.

But this guy is just basic in my opinion. He won't be bad, but he'd be overpriced and pretty basic.

At least that's what I see..

You really do think highly of your scouting skills… congrats on being 1 of 2 that were championing Rodri! (I must have been the other, only I seem to recall a lot of others, but I must be mistaken)

I think Phillips would be a great addition. He's certainly the right kind of character you want to be adding to the dressing room. It must have been a tough decision to go or stay in the end, if he is indeed coming. Think I said previously but it is a bit of a worry that he had to get his hamstring operated on but I'm sure the club has done their due diligence.
That's where it all started going wrong for Michael Owen. Pretty sure he had a really bad hamstring injury and was never the same player.
