Keir Starmer

Too much "allthesamery", and even from some NHS workers, but enough "never vote Tory again" to keep us happy for local elections. Plus the number of people who will be turned away on 4th May without photo ID will be yet more Tory-induced chaos. (We might even go back to the old days when there was a copper at every polling station.)

Best campaign line is whether things have got worse since the Tories took over. We're actually thinking of using as local campaign material a speech by a local Tory councillor, which even had his fellow Tories wincing at his attempt to prove the Nasty Party is back.

Haven't people got enough time to get photo ID if they need it?

Plenty senior nurses I work with vote Tory. Sounds daft but I think some folk think it makes them look posh.

All seem to be policies that they are still promoting.
Ha ha I know you are a starmer supporter but he has even sheepishly admitted they have been ditched, using the last 2 years and Covid as some weak reason.

1st pledge: he has backtracked on the taxing the top 5% and corporation tax
2nd: Reeves thinks the welfare state is already too kind to some.
3rs: green new deal has been wartered down and he has added fine a fly tipper as a gimmick
4th: Pretty much agreed with the gov on most foriegn policy decisions
5th: Ruled this out completely and him, reeves and streeting have all muted more privare investment in public services
6th: Pretty much just claiming he will just be more efficient than the gov at proccessing people no real stratergy, no interest in reversing free movement
7th: Shown his true colours and opinion already and shits on Unions and workers battling for better wages with his attitude
8th: Gone very quiet on this bar waving his two flags at scotland and telling them stay part of the union
9th: The party is presently accused of having ignored or be indifferent to transphobia, racism, islamaphobia, mysoginy, elitism and stalin like autocratic systems that bar disent.
10th: What opposition have we had ? He has voted with or abstained during these parliament sittings as LotO and whipped MPs to do the same, spent most of the pandemic and year after agreeing with the government while they fleeced the country and since has hardly dented them, the knob is lucky they are so corrupt and unlikable, the tories have been their own opposition party and gifted starmer a 20% lead.

All pledges ditched or ignored, that is why many call him a liar and a fraud.

Still 5 years of blue labour is better than 5 more years of the hard right tories we have ;-)

Why are you not voting ? Surely labour deserve a go after the tories have fucked us up for so long ?

First time ever Kaz. I can’t vote for Starmer on what I’ve seen. He’s turned out to be untrustworthy fucker. Sunak has made a few errors of judgement but he deserves credit for his time during covid and also quitting to force Johnson out…unfortunately there are some very undesirable Tory MPs so they need a time out of power.

Starmer is undoubtedly going to win, probably with the lowest voter turnout ever.

I will continue with my position of never having voted for either of the two main parties. I am living in a constituency with a majority for one of them that’s never going to change though, not a fan of it but I may well have made a tactical vote decision this time if I was living somewhere where it could have made a difference.

The source for the article has several contradictions, it was an unaproved message the front bench are distancing themselves from then says it was part of Steven Reeds team campaign, says the leaders office and comminications team argued about it before it was sent out, but then claim starmer was unaware of it.

Seems like more lies as they try and get the story straight.

Plus it was reposted again this afternoon, long after Cooper and starmer were aware and is still up

Thanks to photo ID rules brought in by the Tories?
