Keir Starmer

It means there can’t be a backlash as once they take a side, they can be criticised either way. It’s bland, but keeps their slate clean.

MPs should always vote how their constituents want where possible.

Politically, 'abstain' was the right call. The motion was never going to win, so best to not rock the boat on a very divisive matter and alienate support from either side of the issue

Politics is (sadly) a game, and in my lifetime Blair has been the only Labour leader who understood how to play it to get elected. Starmer has made some missteps, but unless something dramatic happens, he's well on course to be the next PM. Then we'll get to see exactly who he is and what he stands for.

Labour (and their sister parties overseas) generally suffer from not being centrist enough in opposition, and then not being left enough when in power.

On matters of conscience abstaining is a cowards choice and forcing your party to vote one way not holding a free vote is not only spineless but also undemocratically repugnent.

We know starmer has no backbone to be honest, but relies on not doing anything he thinks will rock the tory/liberal vote he needs

I am more dissapointed in our local MPs but not shocked Powell is a void of a person, Jeff Smith a waste of space and Raynor a hypocrite who has dissapointed the most by being spineless
