What mental gymnastics you have to come up with to justify your moral high ground.

I always thought that collective action relied on individuals doing the right thing at the same time, but am now reassured that I can fuck off all the hard stuff, as everything just happens the way it was going to happen anyway.

Rest assured you can indeed now do this, for @hilts has spoke. All hail the @hilts !

It's not mental gymnastics it's just the very very simple fact that no one vote will ever win a general election. If you're too bloody stupid to realise it that's your problem.

The mental gymnastics are coming from centrist Labour supporters who for some reason only known to them get themselves in a mess over trying to justify everything this New Labour comes out with.

Their team you see.

Now there’s a thought. But, and hear me out, I mean it’s a bit radical, what if we added up all those individual votes? Will that make a difference? Is that how elections work?

Love how you guys really hate winning…must be agony right now :)
It is not me winning, its the Neo-liberal anti Socialist Liberal left that win, just as they win when the Tories win.

Yes it is agony, I want the UK to be a Socialist country, I want a country where inequality is lessened, where people have houses to live in, where they do not go hungry and they can turn the heating on. I want a country where people have proper well paid jobs, they have proper well funded services and the NHS is run by the people for the people. I want a country that helps people who hit hard times and funds welfare properly rather than punishing the unfortunate and as a Socialist i do believe in the principle that everyone who can work should work. I want a country where essential services like power, transport, water are owned by the people for the people. I want a country that is safe for all its people, i want a properly funded police force, a properly funded border force, a proper amount of firemen, ambulance drivers, doctors, nurses and i want an education service that is world class and lets people learn for free to the day that they die. I want a country where pensioners have dignity, where peoples rights are sacrosanct.

That to me would be winning and if you do not want that then its you who in my opinion is losing.

Sounds like you want a communist country?

Sounds like something Thatcher would approve of.

Can an opposition Party make policy and effect changes - no they can't - to do that you need to be elected with a working majority.

Best way to do that is to win as many votes as you can. You don't need to like everyone nor do you need to see eye to eye with every one of their views but if you can get that assembly of parts travelling in the same direction it will be a force for good.

Think of it like James O'Briens "footballification" of politics but in a good way. Think about it - we are all Blues and we have many different views on the club, some of the players, Pep and his tactics but we are bound as Blues to want the best for City

We all want what you espouse. The question is how do we get these things and who, out of the two main parties, is best positioned to move towards these things?

In my view that is Labour, so I will vote accordingly. I assume, as you also want these things, that is how you will vote. In which case we are in accord.
