Keir Starmer

Some strong words about Keith from Diane Abbott, basically accusing him of backing remain to oust Corbyn from the party.

Can't listen to the woman at all, she's just disappointed that her ideology is a busted flush in the UK. She doesn't make points she's just an idiot in a very very safe seat.

Crazy from Abbott, whether she has a point or not, politician has ambition isnt really news is it? The disappointing thing is that Starmer hasn't exactly capitalised that much on the mess the Tories have made of covid. That said I think he will still walk the next GE if BJ is still in charge. He also had to ditch remain to stand a chance of winning the next GE. The best we can hope for is a clean break from the EU under this Government and then when Labour comes to power in four years time a resetting of the clocks back to the middle ground with a clean slate to work with. And an important part of that clean slate is the freedom to support our core industries such as steel, shipbuilding etc where needed. If this covid crisis has taught us anything its that we shouldn't become too reliant on cheap imports and cant afford to lose entire sectors of our economy.
The lack of media coverage on what Abbot has said shows the establishment see Keith as a safe bet.

Had it been Keith attacking his leader Corbyn it would be the lead story for days.

She's only giving voice to the discontent within the left of the party. Even if the media ignore it Starmer needs to deal with the problem before it bites him on the arse at the ballot box.

And within the party itself.

Lots of supporters he thought would fuck off are staying firm and sending various motions via their CLPs.

In safe seats the voter numbers for the incumbent tend to decrease over time due to voter apathy, in Diane's seat her votes have remained pretty much constant because she is a brilliant MP for her constituents.

She has been an MP for 25 years, I think her constituents would disagree with you about her being an idiot unless you think the 18,000 majority she turned into a 39,000 majority makes them all idiots too.

The abuse Diane has received over the years has been appalling, she is regularly threatened with rape and other forms of personal attack, Amnesty International said she was on the end of over half of all personal abuse aimed at Female MPs during the 2017 election campaign and she received 10 times the abuse that any other MP received and for her to carry on and not let the horrible cunts grind her down makes her out to me as a person of consummate bravery.

No female MP should ever receive threats of rape, whatever party, ideology, creed, colour whatever, its just fucking wrong.

Problem starmer has or will have if he continues his fence sitting stratergy is people will just comment more he has no opinion, passion or position on any subject.

This may get brushed off by his acolytes as something he doesn't need till 2024, but 4 years of having a void of any sort of opinion or personality will instill the same apathy of "he's not much different to what we have" or "their all just the same anyway" labour had under milliband.

And this isn't me saying the previously leader wasn't a wet lettuce either, when it came to courage of convictions that daft twat fence sat too in the end.

You need to ballance a clear message with a bit of fire under the belly, starmer has neither at the moment and is in danger of being typecadt as much ado about nothing 4 years down the line.

Exactly what laws is he going to introduce, to tackle this structural racism? We keep hearing it, so what is he going to do?
Cut to the chase, what do you want him to do?
I posted it as it seems to be his first official policy statement.

It may well be brilliant or another PR stunt that should Labour win in 4 years time is watered down to fuck but has a really nice slogan.

it doesn't mean anything though. It's like having a new "driving license" act.

The Act looks like it's going to give immigrants recourse to public funds if it's based on the Lawrence Report. I can't see it being a vote winner tbh.

The EHRC report is out. All the usual suspects are out in force demanding the previous leader gets expelled. No doubt Keith will use this to fuck him and other members off.

I doubt these journalists who are asking Starmer questions have read the full report and just gone for the sensualists lines in the wording.

It feels like we've gone back a year. Keith allowing so called journalists to ask him questions like "Will you expell Corbyn and his hence men?"

This report is the opportunity he will take to move the party back to PR friendly new new labour or whatever he'll brand it as.

Corbyn suspended yet people continue to say that the guy was a victim of the right wing press.

Or is this their fault?
I mean, he was, but he was always unelectable anyway, but has become such a pariah that association with him is incredibly damaging. If Labour could fire him into the moon, they would. (and rightly so) Now they will forever have his cultist followers dragging down the party, continuing to make them unelectable.

Genuinely can't recall a politician doing so much damage to their party.
