Good to see him getting that scoring touch back
Yeh I couldn't agree more, I've made the same point myself dozens of times on here. There are so many casual observers that say DeBruyne and SiIlva can't play together, but our very best performances have come when they both play in the middle with one behind. We look a completely different side when we play 433 and these two are absolutely key to that.

Kevin De Bruyne has been named the best Belgian player in a foreign league for the second year in a row.

The top 5: 1. Kevin De Bruyne (278) 2. Eden Hazard (164) 3. Yannick Carrasco (159) 4. Toby Alderweireld (105) 5. Dries Mertens (104)
Both playing in the middle is key I think, when one of them plays wide we lose our balance which in turn affects both of their games.
Yeh couldn't agree more mate. They can both do a job wide in a 433 but it completely unbalances the team. We lose that pace and directness from wide, and we inevitably lose the creativity of one of them in the middle.
The both have to play centrally - together preferably, they compliment each other so well.
I can see us trying a diamond in certain games to try to get Jesus and Aguero up front as a pair, fingers crossed Pep can figure out a way to get the best out of them both in that system too.
Was very surprised to hear that but I agree he deserves it.Kevin De Bruyne has been named the best Belgian player in a foreign league for the second year in a row.

I'm sure there will be a fair few critics as he isn't able to show off all of his skills in such a setup, but I actually agree with you and think Pep must have been impressed with him as well. The fact that we are not that direct *all the time* (we still pretty much are in absolute terms though) means that Silva will always look more spectacular, but it seems like he is starting to get this whole positional play stuff. He was everywhere today, making himself free for Willy's long passes after our passing from the back, showed some brilliant ball retention and craft.Good performance tonight. He does such a lot, linking, passing, moving into space. The odd spot of showbiz. Such a class act.
I agree. He's playing very selflessly at the moment (as is Yaya, actually), and is constantly looking to create a situation with an extra man, or put a team mate into space.I'm sure there will be a fair few critics as he isn't able to show off all of his skills in such a setup, but I actually agree with you and think Pep must have been impressed with him as well.
