Kolo Toure [Merged]

Once again we pay over the odds to Arsenal - the only question is IF Wenger will get to spend any of the 41 million we've paid him for two averagely good players, if he does then I expect he'll use the money to fund better replacements and still make a profit. Barry, Tevez and RSC were reasonable buys, especially Barry, so why we've gone overboard to fund Arsenal is beyond me.

Sorry meant dutch league no dutch player. I am passing on what Ian Wright is saying on Talk Sport ! Not much of an Arsenal fan is he !

Listen to it they are not impressed with these deals and neither are the aarsenal fans ringing up !

Also the Dutch lad they have brought in saying he is unproven been around for a few years none of the top clubs have thought he was worth a punt.

Bottom line they think if we get Lescott with Toure much better than any pairing Arsenal currently has in the centre plus overall Bridge and Richards on form better than their full backs.

OMG your knowledge is shocking, how on earth you can slate me is way beyond me. Their full backs, Sagna and Clichy are a million miles better than Richards and Bridge, Bridge has looked top in the friendlies but no way is he better than Clichy. Sagna is world class, and if Richards ever reaches his level I will be a very happy man.

Vermaelen is Belgian, not Dutch. Vermaelen is the same age as what Evra and Vidic were when they came to England, age means nothing as a defender, and just because he's young it does not mean he won't turn out to be a class defender.
Why are you sooo sooo negative. Why can you not say anything good about our signings. Toure will prove you wrong :) have a feeling.

Sagna world class? You havin a laugh mate.

I didn't say anything bad about any signing there lmao. I have been delighted with every single one of our signings so far barring Bellamy, RSC and now Toure. And even then, I'm not unhappy that we're strengthening, I'm just annoyed that we're not buying better players despite their availablity...

Obviously the defence needs to be much improved from last season, but even without new additions, surely it will be better because with improved players up front like Tevez we will be able to start defending higher up the pitch, and other teams may be a lot more cautious going forward against us cos hopefully we will be able to hit them on the break better.

Signing Toure and Lescott will build on that.

Was just about to say that. At City we will always have a majority of negative fans. Is this what City does to you??!!! God, we are going places at last! :) :D

Yep good point. The top teams all defend from the front. With the additions of Barry and Tevez working hard to regain possession for us high up, i believe the opposition will have a lot less chances to exploit us.

haha they are a tad late in announcing that one!

TBF stu the SSN Researchers can't read without their lips moving so it takes them a while to get through your posts ;)

lol, They are about 2 hours behind! He left the hospital to go to the hotel around 2pm.....not sure what time he got to the stadium, but SSN are miles behind!

Wright has just said on talk sport Arsenal are going to get Viera back on a pay as you play deal.

Laughing stock time. Obviously not geting much of that money to spend.

in your opinion, which is quite an important point as it seems to differ from most other posters and, more importantly, MCFC
but then again none of us or the club have your extensive scouting network or your humongous brain, we are clearly not worthy

"Better Players available" is a qualitive judgement and I for one am happy with Hughes' judgement to date. Not sure who you refer to as better players

Bellamy, RSC and Toure are all very good signings. We cannot just throw money at every superstar. Hughes has got a great plan. These 3 signings provide balance.
