I agree with you on "the too much" argument, it doesn't matter if we want him. But people are allowed opinion on how good
they think he is. It's what the forum is for, in parts.

Opinion on what he'll bring to City, yeah,by all means.....but what the club are prepared to pay has fuck all to do with us.
It's lik,not buying your dream car because the neighbours think it's too expensive.....you'd tell them to fuckoff.

It is daft money but it's only relative to the amount of daft money flying around in the premier league at the moment. We're seeing £50m being quoted for Eric Dier who has nowhere near proven himself yet. United have just paid the best part of £100m for Lukaku! Walker was the best right back in the league last year and will be ready to hit the ground running. People complaining we should pay £22m for Perreira are talking daft, he might well end up being a good player a for Spurs (I doubt anyone on here has watched much of him tbh) but we're crying out for a someone with proven established quality at a high level in that position. £22m isn't a bargain if you end with someone you still want to upgrade on in two years time for another ridiculous fee. It's a good solid signing and a massive improvement on what we were working with last year.

No Spurs fans expected to sell Walker for anything like 60 or 70 million. Which fullbacks in world football ever go for that much?

Ive read all those post and the forum. The majority are pretty chuffed they could be getting £50 million+. Two posters saying i want 60 or 70 million don't speak for the rest.

Overall they think they've rinsed us. Personally i dont give a fuck.

I wanted us to walk away yesterday because I thought Levy was going to drag this out and continue to 'mug us off' but it massively improves us signing a right back of Walkers quality. Besides for the best right back in the league, £45m + £5m in add ons isn't that bad, especially when we are weakening a team that has finished above us in consecutive seasons!

Alves falls through, we cave and pay the £50m Spurs wanted.

Good business for Spurs, but still great business for us. Perfect for Peps system

I think the guy is worth £30m, but personally don't care if we pay twice that. I'm terrified of the idea of us going into the season with no full-backs.

Good signing yes, good deal though, no, not for us. We've just line the pockets of a team that already finished above us last season. Time to develop our own, or at the very least by prospects and improve them.

Exactly this

Insane money and i (personally) don't rate him that highly - will be interesting if he lives up to the 'world's most expensive defender' tag

We are almost at the point now where fee is irrelevant, things are progressing so quickly with regards to fees rising, that what looks expensive now, looks a relative bargain in 12 months time.
