Like a company's balance sheet and profit & loss accounts. The club has income (from tv deals, sponsorships, etc) and expenditure (wages, amortised fees, debt payments, etc). In any year the club can only incur losses of up to about £30m.

You sure ? It read anything like this before

So if Arsenal or man Utd failed FFP you wouldn't smile? You are mistaking discussions about its implications with arguments for and against it. We spent a year discussing whether City would get sanctioned.

Principally, I hate FFP as much as United. It's a same shit. And of course I'd like Rags and Arsenal to fail it because they are it's creators.

But I would certainly not want PSG to fail it, even if they would nick all our targets. They are in same boat as us, fighting for their place under the sky while being attacked with a rule that is there to stop them and us ever challenging the elite. It's a hypocrisy of the highest order to support ffp over them. If we can't beat them with money and stuff, I'll definitely not support ffp to help us in that.

I'm fine with 500 mil. more but it's unbelievable Jeff how much lot of City fans are talking about PSG and FFP. From all fans, we, who suffered from FFP and which robbed us for at least 2 titles so far. I never thought I'd see this shit here.
I know,it is starting to get a bit tidious.

To be fair the Neymar thing is not something I'd like to see City doing, we are nowhere near that bad(we've brought a lot of players in but we had to... we need a defence after letting so many go and the type we need are not cheap) but we will still be mentioned in the same breath as them... it will be used as a stick to beat City with by so called association.

If that's the case then I hope we're doing something behind the scenes to sign somebody of real quality up front because as it stands we're leaving ourselves short and reliant on a couple of players remaining fit/free from suspension for the season.
I don't see the Sanchez deal happening so hopefully there's another option that's been kept under wraps.

This is what I'm thinking mate. The question is who? There's a dearth of top class forwards who are available. Looking back, a Douglas Costa would have been rest, especially on loan with a €40m option to buy.

I don't care how are we going to bring the players, tbh. I don't give a flying one. Neymar is obviously mega huge and City wasn't up to it but if City though it's good to do that kind of a deal, I'd be happy as fuck to have him here. Ruining football is great stuff. More it's ruined, more it gets spectacular and more TV's are paying for it. Ruined my ass. Saying that, we spent about the same money as they did this summer and much, much more in last two summers so technically we are more nasty than them.

More talk of FFP.

There is a seperate thread for it but always seems to come back to this one.

It gets tedious

fucking hell, there's more talk about ffp (hoping someone fails it) here then on ragcafe, rawk or arsenalmania. Sad and pathetic.

I've shaken my head at a few posts over the past few days that have incited that FFP should clamp down on psg. I know we're fighting agaisnt psg to sign the best players, but we should be applauding psg for saying fuck you to UEFA and the big clubs throughout Europe.

That's totally misguided(we brought in so many players for that spend, among them young hopefuls that will be here for years to come and yet to reach their primes) and I disagree with your sentiments really, that's more like the rags of old(there's a before and after they fell from grace and got behind FFP) if anything.

I don't mind us spending when we need to(Mbappé has another good season and we manage to sign him next season? Great much better than this season) but this win at all costs(sign bale just so the rags can't that's having me shake my head far harder) is something we should be moving away from, lets get our own talents coming through our academy... prestige(by moving towards doing everything in the right way that doesn't have to be anything to do with FFP) is the word Pep values it us blues should see what he's saying too. He's been spelling it out for those wise enough to grasp it, short term we've had to spend big and occasionally still will but take a longer term view.

And back to Mbappe and stuff. If we fail in Mbappe and Sanchez it's a bit of shit. We need forwards and the quality pool is not getting any deeper.

The other thing is it will be hard to bring any established top player in prime age because he'll look at Jesus and Aguero and think he won't regularly play. Mbappe is OK there as we could sell him a story about AGuero leaving soon and him being that age leaves him with plenty of time. Someone at 26-27 might be different pair of sleeves. It's bit of catch 22 situation.
