Fact is if you are from Oldham, Tameside, Rochdale, Trafford, Bolton, Wigan, Bury, Salford or Stockport you are not a Mancunian. The only exception I would make would be for people born in Middleton before it became part of Rochdale.

Midd is M24 and 0161. Failsworth is M35 and 0161. Are they really Rochdale and Oldham respectively?
If I think of the people around me at City, I think of New Mills, Oldham, Farnworth and suchlike. Huge student, professional and immigrant populations has seen migration out of the place.

Bridge Hall was his school. One of my pals worked there & swears he recommended him to a City scoutFar as I know , Phil Forden's family are from Bridge Hall / Adswood area of Stockport , and he grew up around Edgeley . I did see a video clip he did, talking about his junior school, and he said it was Bridge Hall .

Why? They’re both places in the same county.
Stockport is full of City. If anyone thinks we all live in Droylsden then they’re deluded. Blues based around the world.
Yeah but droyslden ain't Manchester either, it's tameside.
Stocky is Greater Manchester and cheshire, but it isn't Manchester and if you are born there you are a stopfordian not a Manc.
But then most stopfordians I know are proud of that fact, it's them middleton folk that you call rochdalians that normally get vexed ;-) .
Foden being stopfordian doesn't diminish his blue and city credentials and his place as a born n bred bert.

But some of Failsworth is OL postcode and their council tax goes to Oldham and their bins are emptied by Oldham.
