Manchester United approached GMP about limiting numbers of travelling supporters for both games. Police chiefs agreed with the request, and Manchester City felt obliged to comply. There is a suspicion amongst fans that the move is driven by commercial motives. [@MullockSMirror]
I think we get the first leg out of way and then cut the rags allocation to 1,000
Fucking hell there -will be no one in the stadium:)
Whereas a few of us might have a moan about the allocations while having a pint down the pub, those perpetual victims would be mobilising for the usual round of candle strewn public vigils, parliamentary enquiries etc etc were their allocations to be reduced. The Merseyside derby is no less passionate than the Manchester derby. Some say it's more passionate. Not sure about that.
And there is now no love lost between the fans. Long gone is the era when they used to mix together in both stadiums.
Yet both clubs and Merseyside Key Stone Cops don't think there will be a problem on the night.
I bet neither club would dare slash the allocations.

The rags hate large away followings at the swamp, they prefer to see them stuck away in a corner.
