I mean if they get like 15-20m for Zinchenko and Mendys salary off the books, its well worth the upgrade.
Why would the club sell Zinchenko who has been very reliable these many years?
Can't have just one LB in the team.

We are the biggest club and the best team in the world. And despite all this, there are 2 problems here. First - why would Brighton already sell him? And for 30 million? He only arrived the summer before, a contract for 4 years, was selected as the player of the season. The 2nd problem - why would he want to leave? He plays regularly, was named player of the season, he is still very young and this was only his first year in England. Why would he choose to be only a rotation player after Cancelo?
Pep! He is from the Barca academy. So there is familiarity with some of what Pep does.

Why did Wolves allow Jota to go to Liverpool £41m so early in his contact and why did Jota want to go when they already had Salah, Mane, Firmino, Minamino, Origi etc?

He would jump at the chance to join Pep, the other Spanish lads, and City.

But he needs to understand Manchester has everything apart from the sea and a beach. And it’s not as hot, sunny, and dry as Brighton.

Jota is a bit of a weird one. He was undoubtly talented but was never really a stand-out player at Wolves. He wasn't even guaranteed a starting place a lot of the time. He is one of the moneyball signings the Scousers have gotten completely spot-on because the qualities he does have fits perfectly into the way they play while his shortcomings gets masked.

Sadly their data-driven signings have got a lot better since the glory days of spunking wads of cash on Andy Carroll, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing

Their recruitment has been nothing short of amazing for years. City and Liverpool operate in different markets really. They don't spend as much on individuals (bar a few) but they manage to find similar quality players to city.

I think they struck gold with mane and salah - two truly world class players
I think firminho Diaz, jota are a level below but still good
I think once the main two leave they will drop off from too top class to just really good

And he's turned into a bit of a **** - so fits in ideally with their culture and tactics.
