Leicester post match thread

If we can get some ruthlessness in our performances consistently we should be challenging but 36 points from the first 19 games 7 fewer than last year this time tells us we are struggling in MP's last season.

That's 72 points from 38 league games in 2015. Overall, we have been average this whole year with the form of a 4th placed team.
Let's hope we can kickstart a title winning form next year.

It's the previous form that's getting everyone so down. In isolation tonight was good.

United and Chelsea haven't been able to arrest the slide and we are going down a similar route with 3 points from 6 away games. Otherwise, the performance was decent although we couldn't do much towards the end of the game when Sterling & KDB were tired and Navas/Bony misplacing passes and shots as usual.

Just got back, thought we were shit again. Yes we dominated but every single team in the league dominates against Leicester. We had no penetration whatsoever despite having what many would consider out best attacking 4 on the pitch together. The only notable chance i can recall is the Aguero chance at the start of the second half which he should of absolutely buried. If that were Bony he'd of been slaughtered for missing that. 8 goals in 9 away league games, It's simply not good enough, don't see it changing anytime soon though.
Agree with you fully but it seems you'll get abuse if you dare say we didn't play well! Too many players have been average this season that's what's costing us most.

We need to improve.

Having said that, a point at the king power against an in form side playing at their peak with our current form is a decent result.
This is not the right mentality. By the time we see them again, they wouldn't be in the top 6. They looked no different from Villa or Watford. Good team i n a purple patch.

I see them losing 3 of the next 6, which may show how disappointing this and the Arsenal result were.

Understand completely and you touch on my point. They are playing at their highest level and can only decline.

However we have several gears to move up. At the moment we are below par, based on the timing of the fixture I think it's an ok result. As I said we were poor.

Seem to remember we were massively average their last year too. Which is disappointing.

We are at the point now where we just have to find form or we are in serious trouble title wise.

I haven't seen anything suggesting we can take the title so far. We just seem like a lethargic bunch who sometimes try hard. And we actually tried hard today. Even Yaya was energetic and yet we didn't look threatening.

Agree with that, very worrying indeed.

It's quite remarkable to me that anyone would type, or agree with, the sentence "I haven't seen anything suggesting we can take the title."

Have either of you tried looking at the fucking table that says we are only three points off the top? Since that's the summation of actual mathematical results rather than the jaundiced shared observation of a couple of guys on a comment board, I think I'll trust what the table says, thanks.

Exactly. We are there or there abouts coming into the new year. Could be better but could be a lot worse!

I thought Inler was a hard player when he was at napoli but today he went down like a cheap **** ever time some one touched him.

Thought we played decent. Best rearguard performance I've seen in awhile from City, especially with Otamendi and Mangala.

You forget that in the same way we have played most of the top teams away this first half (I include Leicester in that this season) we also played most of the top 5/6 teams excluding Arsenal away in the second half of last season so it's a bit harsh to look at our points total for 2015 on that basis.

Defensively good but the attack was toothless. Pretty, tippy tippy football but no real threat generation or sustained, chance creating pressure. But could have been worse.

Reasons to be positive:
1. Clean sheet without Vinny, and away from home
2. Just 3 points off top, with the inevitable bottlers leading the way
3. Aguero and Silva have more playing time and should now be 100% for the next game
4. This was a very good performance against a team flying at the top who were at home
5. De Bruyne

The performance was good enough to win it if City had Sergio at his best, or even just his normal form. That sitter he mist beginning of the 2nd half, would never ever have happened if he was on a normal injury free run this season.

In the end I fear that Sergio's injury/ies together with Vinnie's is what's will cost City the title this year, just when it's up for grabs. Cause it's not just the matches that they're out injured, but also the lack of form in the first couple of matches they return, which makes a 4 week injury cost about 7 weeks.

Sadly, Bony in spite of all his efforts hasn't proven to be a worthy replacement for Sergio, and neither has Otamendi or Mangala for Kompany. So even if just 3 points behind, can't see City taking it this year.

Disappointed....can't wait for the next season under Pep....I believe we will score 4-5 goals in a match often under him...
