Garcia is never a CB and Lescott is past his best. Kompany out means we are fucked and I expect the same at Stoke if this is not resolved.

Neither of them are top team players. But neither was Joe Hart today along with a few others. Kompany being out should not be such a big problem. Yes he is a great player. But Nasty was on the bench & even not match fit he must be faster than both at CB. Barry started out in the middle of the back 4 & Richards can play there. Richards would be my choice to cover injuries when he is fully fit. Fast, strong & can jump & head a ball.

Richards and Barry would be out of the club if the manager had his way - just a gut feeling mixed with some newspaper gossip (probably unreliable of course).......Garcia isn't a centre back by trade and neither is Toure. Nastasic is on his way back from injury and Kompany is injured.

I'm sure Pellegrini wasn't banking on Kompany and Nastastic being unavailable so early on but even still i'd have expected another centre back at the club by now. Not long before the transfer deadline so he'd better get his skates on. The talk of Demichelis is farcical given how he was on a free just a few weeks back and now he's going to cost an alleged 4 million quid.

This so-called ' partnership' melted in the Cardiff sunshine but should never have seen the light of day.You must have 4 competent specialist centre-backs but,even before Nastacic was injured, Kolo had left, leaving one man light in this dept.The director of Football was said to be negotiating for Pepe but Real are a notoriously difficult club to deal with and he's now reported to be haggling with Atletico for a couple of million over de Michelis.Yes, losing VK after his tremendous performance against Newcastle , was sheer bad luck but that left only Lescott who loses his nerve when the skipper's not there to talk him through.it's no good relying on auxiliaries such as Garcia, who has the stature but lacks the fighting heart -or Zaba who's the exact opposite.Garcia , above all, looked pathetically weak but was reprieved in the first half by Joe Hart. With his confidence in his central defenders undermined ,Hart was left flailing at the corners in the second half.the DOF needs to get at least one man in before the deadline , someone who knows the centre-back job and can be relied on to do it.
