Re: official move for Lescott today...

Don't quote me , as this is more of a question than a statement , but if Everton simply sold him , wouldn't they have to pay him a loyalty bonus for every year left on his contract ?

If so , it could run quite costly , and unless it is agreed out of any deal , then Everton might insist that he put a request in should they want to accept any offer .

all of the first 18 yes apart from robhino that can speak a little why do you ask

I think Fellaini found it hard not speaking English very well and was well protected by Neville regarding refs etc .
It will certainly be a set back on the pitch unless they can all communicate with one and other .

The foreign players who come to Everton only have to learn two words...."hoof it"

Yes your right . It's much easier for foreign players to settle at Everton than it would be to do so at City .

At City they need more words such as " Are 'ey ref " , " pick it out " , " the goal's that way " and " where the effin ell is Richards " . :o)

Touche, as they say.

Robinho and Stevie Ireland communicate through the international language of football. Srsly.
Well neither Robinho or Stephen Ireland speak particularly fluent English...

You're not delivering a toast out there, all you have to yell is "Robbie!" and he passes you the ball. Like it matters if some blokes can speak English or not.

Re: official move for Lescott today...

not sure if mentioned already so apologies if so ...

http://www.journallive.co.uk/safc/s...losing-in-on-a-deal-for-dunne-61634-23998054/

....The Black Cats are yet to table a formal offer for the Manchester City skipper and are embroiled in a complex game of brinkmanship with the Citizens and Everton, who did not want to lose England defender Lescott.

But The Journal understands that City are confident of making progress on the Lescott deal by the middle of next week – giving Sunderland the green light to formalise their interest in Republic of Ireland defender Dunne.

Re: official move for Lescott today...

Just a further update, chaps...

City and Everton plan to speak tonight, with a view to getting this all done by the weekend.

Moyes has now said he is willing to have Jo for the season, and view to buy at a hefty discount next year.

Lescott will ask for permission to speak to us with Everton approval already, and forfeit a loyalty bonus. We have promised to make this up on the signing on fee.

Looks more than promising. £18m like I said, not the £15m being touted.

p.s - has Spursmad heard anything about a right-back also this week.

Don't have anything concrete on this - think it might be Kolo?

Maybe there was something in the Maicon link? I don't think Toure has ever really been a right back in the prem.

Maicon's been in the papers with links to us. I think Micah will come good though. Not sure if we need anyone other than him and Zab who will also improve this year imo.

Re: official move for Lescott today...

So seemingly we've cut our losses on Jo and offered them £18,000,000. But if they're going to give us money back for Jo...obviously....£15,000,000 for Lescott really isn't it? I don't think we'll mess about with a fee for Jo given that they're sacrificing one of their best players.

Notice no Everton fans coming on here to ridicule this offer though? :-D

One question: Throughout the loan do you know who's been paying his wages? Everton or us?

The wages are subsidised - half and half.

Re: official move for Lescott today...

Cheers for that, but when you say 'done', could I read into that that it's all sorted but then it's going to be announced on 1st July with Tevez (if rumours are true) and perhaps Eto'o if that's as done as people are saying?

Re: official move for Lescott today...

Nice one TH. I think Lescott would be a cracking signing. Id be happy with a Lescott and Ned centre-half pairing.

Re: official move for Lescott today...

Getting raped again by the looks of it. £18 million is ok in this market but jo on loan with option to buy cheap. Fulham have offered £8 million for Jo which is bad enough but that means Lescott is actually costing us £26 million plus half his wages for next season.

Hes good but not that good. He wants to come we should just say its £18 million straight cash deal and sell Jo to Fulham. Giving Everton £18 million cash and Jo is strengthening them too much IMO.

Everton as desperate for cash at the end of the day, they need the money for rebuilding and we all know you cant keep a player that wants away.
