Lescott, 27, passed a medical in Manchester on Monday and personal terms of £90,000-a-week are understood to have been agreed by the England player.

But the finer details of the transfer have yet to be thrashed out, with City still to finalise agreements with all parties involved in the negotiations.

The Eastlands club had hoped to unveil Lescott officially at a press conference later today and, while such an event may yet take place this afternoon, the player might ultimately be presented to the media on Wednesday should completion of the transfer be delayed further.

City regard the hitch as a minor inconvenience, with both the Lescott and Everton ends tied up, yet the transfer cannot be officially signed off until an agreement is struck with representatives involved in the deal.

Premier League newcomers Wolves are due to receive in excess of £3m from the transfer having insisted on a 15 per cent sell-on clause when selling Lescott to Everton for £5m in 2006.

Lescott's arrival at Eastlands will take manager Mark Hughes's spending close to the £120m mark this summer and the former Molineux defender could make his debut in the Premier League clash with Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Sunday.

Looks like its the representatives which is holding it up.

Better not be Willey Mckay.

City wont hand over the cash until Moyes drops this shit about accusing us of tapping up JL

We wont hand over top dollar then have that prick shouting his mouth off to the league

City have got evidence that he met with Taylor in Thirsk before permission from Newcastle which has made him blow his top on how City know

There will be a little deal struck so everyone is happy

And Everton somehow found £10m today for a Russian defender, does anyone seriously think even the best of Scouse 'fences' would be able to turn around the amount of DvD players it takes to rob in one day.

People can relax...maybe only for a couple of days, though.

Through a Football agent that I speak to through work

Everton want Dunn as well but he wants to stay and will be happy to play bit part and fight for his place, unless MH tells him he wants him to go

This may well be the case, but it currently more to do with the unrealistic agent's fee.

Probably yes - Also City might want to mess them about now so now time to spend the cash
