Agreed. Both of them aren't good enough for us (not even sure about Nastasic, to be honest). However, given the choice between MDM and Lescott, I'd still go for Lescott. The lesser of two evils, I suppose.yankcitizen76 said:

Lescott is still a better option to partner Kompany and has played well when given the chance. Today he was exposed but he would not have messi and iniesta to deal with every game. As I said, the Komapny- Lescott partnership is still the best we have at the moment until the summer.

Played exactly as most would expect - generally very good when it came to proper 'defending', struggled when pressed, mistake that costs us. Not a CL level player, but we knew that anyway. Would still be happy to see him play from hereon in the league.
Thought he was awful throughout tbh. Like a traffic cone most of the time, just there for opponents to run around and his ability on the ball seems like its actually getting worse. Only fitting that he assisted their goal with his usual skilfull inability to know where his own feet are. Very frustrating. Why we haven't bought Kompany the partner he deserves, I have no idea

What game were you watching? He was excellent for 90% of the game up against one of Europes best. Yes, one major mistake but at least not giving away a pen and a sending off.
No one doubts that Vinny needs a partner but as things stand he's still way ahead of DM as a defender.
Whoever was responsible for NOT buying Fernando or Mangala in the Jan window needs to shoulder much of any blame.
They all gave everything tonight and everyone of them should be praised.

Before this season, I cannot remember Lescott finding awesome passes into feet in tight areas. He would NEVER do that before!!
If you're gonna slate him, be honest about it and don't use the ball bouncing off him, for the goal, as the rod to do it with.
