Lescott

Lescott has played 11 games for us so far this season and thats with him being forth choice he is miles better then Garcia and Boyata at CB. Rekiks loan isn't up until the end of the season so unless we have someone from the EDS ready to step up or are signing a top defender in January which all seems to be more difficult then in the summer we would be better letting his contract expire then we will have Rekik back. Which in my opinion will leave us as strong or maybe even stronger without spending a penny. fI we do sign a top CB in January where does that leave Rekik? Cant see him interested in going for 1st choice at PSV till 5th choice with us.

How is Rekik doing on his loan spell - anyone know?

Playing time or not, would a West Ham move really help Lescott's international chances? Seems like players on the lower level teams don't even get a look.

Lescott has little chance of playing for England again unless a large rash of injuries occurred.

He knows it but obviously still wants to play at the highest level he can and you can always hope.

As far as his situation at City is concerned unless we already have a younger better replacement already lined up it would be silly to loan him out when he only has six months on his contract left and we don't have adequate cover as it is.

As many have said in a number of positions we don't quite have the quality in reserve to ensure key injured players are not as big a loss as they currently are.

That can only be addresses in the summer.

I know its only 7 days into the transfer window but loans like the panic loan of West Ham and Johnson who is out of favour at a first division side look like being the only deals done in this window.

One or two permanent deals of note may happen but I doubt they will involve the likes of Arsenal , Chelsea, Liverpool , City , Everton and Spurs.

Pretty stupid to sell him imo, not a huge fan but he is a relatively solid squad player especially for a 4th choice CB. Doubt City are gonna get any type of fee for him.

Personally dont want to see us sign yet another centre back as I want to see either Rekik or Denayer given an opportunity. Guess we will see how much faith the club has in giving youth a chance in what they decide concerning the centre back situation. Nastasic is also 20, so signing a top centre back might limit his development.

Think City (Pellegrini) stated nobody would leave other than Guidetti who needs to play regular football after his long injury lay-off. I think it's more a case IF Lescott wants to go rather than City want to get rid of him straight away.
I would be ok for Lescott to stay rather than loan him out. But I'd understand if Lescott wants to go to try and play regular football elsewhere and -who knows- achieve being a member of the England squad as a reward.

I wouldn't let Lescott go to West Ham on loan . Anyway West Ham have just signed Rodger Johnson . Looks like Lescott will be staying till the end of the season .
