The list of things you listed in your initial post indicates you watch a lot of TV (live or otherwise).I hardly watch any telly, which is why Iplayer is so good on the ocassional time I do sit down to watch something. Its not a tax that hit the poorest the hardest. Its not a tax even. The ones who watch telly all day like the very olds and pensioners, are the ones who get the very most from it and get their monies worth. Working younger people dont get to see so much, but pay it. So that viewpoint is silly, respectfully of course.
The licence fee is obviously a tax and if you're one of the poorest people in the country finding £160 is clearly not as easy as it is for someone on a decent salary.
There's no respectful way of calling someone silly.
