If the signatures are obtained then there would be a vote and in this vote there must be 2/3 in favor to censure. In 2017, Benedito filed similar against Bartomeu and came up short - I see it as improbable.

I always assumed that was his media stance to cause the least amount of controversy. I believe that he wouldn't have wanted to try persuade Messi if he was dead set on staying but if he is leaving I think Pep will be all over it

I think I said earlier but it's worth repeating: even if his interpretation is incorrect, it is clear that Barcelona are breaking the spirit of the agreement. It is an argument over semantics. What was he supposed to do, end his contract mid season?

The board is exploiting the covid situation to box him in. He will consider that an enormous betrayal. If they force him against his will in this way, I can only imagine how angry he would be. He will never sign another contract with Barcelona.
