Yes but it will inevitably rely on assistance from Miseryside Police. If or when GMP get a facial image of the bloke who threw it they will have to find his identity and that will need the local police to either know him or circulate it where people may know him.

look, when you go to a game of football you are representing your club ? if somebody steps out of line, then you ban all of them, the police close clubs and pubs down because of trouble in or outside the place, Manchester city and GMP should ban all Liverpool fans from the next game at the Etihad, then if there is any more trouble in the future then a banning order should be put in place for 5 years

Of course safety in the ground is the clubs responsibility, but I’m not sure how that links to City having anything to do with the prosecution, other than supplying cctv footage?

I’m expect there is one somewhere mate, although it wouldn’t need to be at the stadium tbf. I know the Birmingham Commonwealth Games was all managed from a security perspective at a WMP command centre in Aston, about three miles from the stadium.

The control room is on box level in between the south stand & Colin Bell.

About 3/4 of them sit in there including city’s head of security & are all on radios to the supervisors of various security firms around different parts of the grounds.

The firm in level 3 on the night would’ve known missiles were being launched & you’d hope would’ve radio’d through to the control room.

You wouldn’t believe the quality of cameras they install in stadiums nowadays, so there really is no excuse not to identify those who are guilty.

Thanks for the info mate. I would believe the quality though. The advances in recent years have been insane, even on relatively basic systems in retail outlets, for example. Like you say, inconceivable they can’t identify suspects and hopefully this story will develop along those lines in the weeks ahead.

Its looking like the Dippers have yet again got away with murder ,if even simpletons like the police cannot identify one of probably hundred Dippers throwing items after a couple of weeks , it just isnt going to happen.

Shouldn’t be anything other than a conviction for the scum that threw objects at the game including the cnut that hit the young girl,it should also make for an interesting game when they come to us in the league if nothing comes of the investigation..
