Just saw a replay of the VVD handball. Did we score before there was a stop in play or did VAR ignore that penalty call? Don’t recall even seeing a replay during the live match.

No offence Dodge but I wasn’t impressed with Leicester City centre. It looked like a proper s**t hole unless I missed the decent part. Albeit we had a few decent beers in the Globe. Still had a cracking day. Hotel (Holiday Inn) was right near our allocated boozers and it was a 25 min walk to the stadium with a cheeky pint in the Soar boozer en route as well.
Leicester is a shit hole. End of. I've got one amazing memory from a night out there which will mean the city forever holds a place in my heart but it doesn't take away from the fact that it's an absolute shithole of a city and most the people who live there are dickheads.

to be fair, if the dippers can come back 1-2 weeks after the madrid game, why the fuck can't our players come back after 4 whole weeks???
Pep's never been into preseason games. Never as been so get us to slow start from us. In pep we trust CTID

I thought we were well off our normal standard especially in the final third but still created a number of chances. A few random thoughts. I think once we start to trust the pass to Haaland he’ll really come in to his own. He made a number of runs but the pass never came. Having said that he could have had a hat trick yesterday. It might sound pathetic but I’m glad his first goal for City wasn’t a meaningless consolation goal. The fact that he bullied Robertson off the ball so easily should concern other defenders.

Alvarez has to start next week as he’s probably the fittest player in the club at the moment after coming straight outof Argentinian football so the short preseason won’t effect him.

We really really need a left back.

Phil has to start next week.

So does Stone, Ake and Dias as a partnership can’t deal with a press too well.
Ake struggles under pressure, totally agree. Grealish...for me he should adapt his game for gge sake of the team. He has great technique so should use it to play one touch and get behind full backs that way. The idea that he can dribble from a standing start kills our attacks

I thought it was bloody awful and we were terrible in most pants to be honest.
It was an opportunity to lay down a marker for the season and flex our muscles to Klopp.
Instead we got the usual half arsed undercooked charity Shield performance that short changes the fans just like the semi final.
Maybe it's me but I really detest this nonchalant attitude we have at times for some games, the FA Cup semis have been the same over recent years.
It was very disappointing and for me it was a shit day.
Put these words in order:

Wobble, fucking, head, give, your, a.

I've lived in Leicester for too long, having left the leafy suburbs of Sale decades ago.

I thought the whole organisation of yesterday was a fucking shambles. The Leicester branch had our annual Blue party in Aylestone, never any trouble, good natured and at least 2 publicans have credited City fans for literally saving their pubs after Covid left them nearly bankrupt. The landlord of the Union is doing up his beer garden from yesterday's takings. He'll never tolerate a bad word about City fans, neither will the locals.

The normal match day commander was changed for this game and he wasn't "briefed" that approx 2000 Blues would be meeting in Aylestone, despite us advising Leics Constabulary through the normal channels, as we had for the previous 10 meets we'd arranged. He had already planned on routing the scouse coaches through Aylestone, sending them to the Gasworks end of the KP. His solution? We want all "your lot" out of the pubs and in their coaches by 1pm. This, despite the fact that some weren't arriving until 1:30pm. We refused, they has a strategy meeting and he changed it to 3-4pm...and left the scouse route the same, with an increased police presence. When their coaches went through? Not one brick, bottle, flare or kebab was chucked. Plenty of verbals, NO incidents. Not fucking one. One copper said to me "imagine if that was in Liverpool? Good lads your lot". Class act.

The rest of the organisation was shite. From the struggle to get through the turnstiles, then off the concourse, to moving the coaches to somewhere no-one knew about.

The ground was ours, outsung the vermin throughout. Keep that going at the Etihad? We'll see.

Prouder than ever to be a blue yesterday. We'll be welcoming all comers again at the end of October.

Bringing a little bit of Manchester to our dull ex-pat existence.

Salutations Blues.
Post of the month for me

you can say or write what you thinkbut home or away its not ofte we beat liverpool.Go back to day one we not only save our worst performances for the scousers, its rarley we turn up it breaks my heart to say it, overall we are the better team regarding trophies but head to head they are the winners.Pep is not the Pope he is not infallable and it always come to the fore when we play the pool So lets get off our backsides against the hammers and show the world what were made off.

i watched the first half the went out, couldnt be arsed watching a game where my team couldnt be arsed.

Looks liker the usual we arent warmed up yet and ready, if we can take 4 points out of first two PL games i will be delighted. Why we have to get going four games in to a season i dont know, and it really annoys me when we go and win 20 on the bounce over xmas !!!!!

on paper every premier league manager would pick our team rather than scousers... But still we look half hearted and we get done over.

Well... that commentary sets the tone for the season ahead. Absolutely DISGUSTING double standards.

Buckle up Blues. We are getting FUCK ALL from the media this season.
Co-commentator went to great lengths to emphasise that this was only our third friendly and Pep is looking way beyond that game.

He's into them, but purely as a laboratory. I think he barely looks at the result. He will have seen things that will be useful to him in the coming weeks.

As long the team play according his plan then he couldn't careless the result of friendly games. Only if something horribly wrong that our team play doesn't work somehow that he will be frustrated even if our team winning it.

Talk about an over reaction. What the hell is wrong with people. Trust the process and have faith FFS we have the best manager in the world and arguably our best ever team. The only slight nagging doubt is the left back situation, its the last piece in the puzzle for me.
Roll on Sunday! I'm loving the fact the media and opposing fans are taking the p**s out of our performance and Haaland's miss etc... they never learn and just watch us motor this season.

Liverpool were flat out and sharp. Pep builds gradually - that's why he dominates Klopp in Prem titles. We weren't half arsed - we were having a tactical and fitness work out. Even though we lacked fitness, when Foden and Alvarez came on they couldn't live with us and we were just trying a few things. We made enough clear chances to have won the game despite the game being nothing but an opportunity to try a few things. We don't have a 'beat Liverpool in a friendly at all costs' mentality - that's what a typical coach would instill in their team. Our trophy winning god of a coach does it his way - and I'm eternally grateful for that.
