Liverpool Post Match Thread

The scary thing for me was there wasn't even much difference in talent between the two starting line ups in terms of quality. With the money we've spent that's shocking!

Still livid, I can't get how a manager can send a team out like that against a side that every man and his dog knows press.

Stubborn, naive and tactical enept but above all else he's not learning.

Yesterday was a shambles, no problem in getting beat but when it's so blatantly self inflicted it's inexcusable.

I thought when City played Seville Pellegrini had turned the corner in opposition awareness. However, he played the same tactics against a woeful Villa which was completely unnecessary and we dropped points.

Yesterday's team selection proves that he does not even bother his arse to do the basics.

11 points from 24 is also dreadful. Not being self entitled but we should be doing better.

Yeah Liverpool were missing ten. Still wiped the floor with City, because their manager respected the opposition, the league, & the fans wishes & desire to win this game.

Ours is interested in protecting his own arse by topping the Champions League group & the game, the league & the fans can all just fuck off if they get in his way.

Either that or he's just a fucking clown who is taking us all for a ride.

Nobody who has ever seen a Klopp team play, would pick that City 11. Pellegrini says he would do it again. That means either he would do it again because he is prioritising the champs lg, or he would do it again because he thinks it's the best use of our squad for that game.

Either option stinks.
Yeah that's right, he pursuaded vinny, silva, bony, Zabba, Nasri, Clichy, to be injured, he also decided today was the day half fit players would be given a run out just for the hell of it, he decided to throw the game for his own benefit, see I'm of the view this result has been coming for weeks, we've carried to many players during this nightmare run of injuries and they are all now nearing fitness. We're in the title race, we've qualified for chumps league next stages, were at home in league cup and with, silva Kompany otamendi Fernandinho delph Zabba clichy bony all due back it doesn't look like the manager is taking us for a ride, as for been a fucking clown, now let me think.

The thing I most fear is handing the title to The Rags by default. They are quietly winning games and picking up points.

Such a worry how the domestic games go out the window prior to a CL group game. Wouln't mind but we're already through.

As well as the two cbs, Sagna was bloody awful yesterday also. 0 tackles, 0 blocks, 0 clearances, 0 interceptions. 68% pass completion...Coutinho put the pressure on and he absolutely crumbled.

Lots of people are hurting, largely, I suspect because of having to listen to Redknapp, Carragher, Owen, Mcmanaman, Thompson, Quinn etc crowing in the media. For me, I recognise that, without days like yesterday I wouldn't have enjoyed putting them in their place quite as much as I have. And, to be honest, I've loved every second of their outrage and indignation. It really is their cup final and I don't say that lightly. They approach games against the rags with a huge inferiority complex but games against us as though we are the architects of their current lowly status. Deliciously, they are justified in that belief so I'm not surprised they burst every sinew to beat us. To his credit, Pellegrini sees the game for what it is, just another game against a mid-table side and, rightly, expected the players to turn in a competent performance sufficient to beat them. The point is, we have bigger fish to fry in midweek which, in the scheme of things, we can do and still win the league comfortably, injuries permitting.

Bad yesterday, we have. Injuries, so to compound that we strip our eleven of the two most effective players, this is befor we see their team. Shocking selection.

Utterly humiliating. Losing 4-1 flattered us against a team where at a push you might want one, maybe two of their players over ours. In 6 weeks Klopp appears to have gained a greater understanding of his players' strengths and weaknesses than our manager has in 2.5 years.
With yesterday's line ups, I'd say I'd have Clyne and Moreno over our full backs. Coutinho over Sterling. Skrtel and Lovren over the chuckle brothers. Maybe even Lucas and Can ahead of Yaya and Fernando. The truth is our squad apart from 3/4 worldies is woefully average and without our 3/4 best players yesterday it showed really bad. Aguero is our best player but I'm still including him in that 3/4 because he wasn't really fully fit.

Shambles, utter, utter shambles. Only one person to blame, we all know who it is Pelligrini. Team selection all wrong, why leave Otamedi, Fernandinio on the bench? Why play two in midfield, one of them Toure? We all knew that Liverpool would play high pressing intensity football, we needed to match this to let our class show. Is there one City fan that was happy with the starting eleven? Anyone? It is not the first time he has done this nor will it be the last. In truth he is a manager that you want to like but you can't help but think he isn't good enough. Time to go in the summer regardless, to achieve domination we need a truly world class manager.

Such a terrible team choice and set up yesterday.

We put it in 32 crosses(1 successful) to their 9, with Aguero and then Sterling as our strikers....What's that about?

Over the last few years we have go to some lengths to try and sign the best players, or at least what we think are.

It seems odd that we have never gone for the best mangers with all respect to Mancini and certainly Pellergrini they are not top drawer- the return overall of 2 PL titles 1 FA cup 1 League cup and humiliation in Europe with @ £300 million spent is way below "par".

We better be dam sure we have Pep lined up as we would probably take putting up with a two season write off under Pellergrini.

This is the worst I've felt about a result and performance for bloody ages and ages. Rubbish. And coming on top of the Villa game... tut, tut. Unacceptable from almost all concerned.
