Cleavers, SM investing in his asset does not mean there is no chance he will sell up. You don't know the guy personally and don't know what he's thinking - just like the rest of us.8 years on, he's still a young man, and he's still invested it all, it never was a short term project, and that campus thing across Alan Turing Way is testament as to why he won't be bailing out, so your fear/opinion is that of someone who is either an outsider, or clueless, and I'm not being 'uptight' I'm saying the reality of it.
Don't bother, its not worth it, celebrate new year instead.I'd have to rewatch but I think the centre backs may have been guilty of being sucked towards the ball.
1) We started well, but conceded a soft goal which was decisive
2) We won most of the challenges. Surely you cannot think we lost because we didn't win the 2nd ball. We had loads of possession
3) The play was slow at times because Liverpool had everyone behind the ball.
4) There was no lack of effort.
We lost a very tight game.
At the moment we're liable to lose such games because our defence is not good enough. I don't think that has anything to with Guardiola. Players like Zabaleta have just had their day, and there's one or two more who are past their best as well
Took a wage cut to come here
Exeter, be as blunt as you like. Doubting my credentials as a Blue on this forum just highlights you showing a lot of poor judgement - publicly.FFS, if you haven't got the gumption to understand the importance of Manchester City to SM as a vehicle of promotion to Abu Dhabi as a country, and not just in terms of sporting achievement, but also, if you believe Mathew Sayeed in The Times, as a means of shoring up Western support, then you can't be helped. Sheikh Mansour leaving is every brain dead rag's most demented fantasy, and you'll have to forgive us for doubting the credentials of a claimed Blue trotting out the same ill considered cobblers. If you are a City fan then I'm sorry to have been blunt with you

He could sell but I think it's far more likely that the Sheikh will invest further to expand the Etihad and expand the CFG.
He's making a profit, increasing the value of his assets and promoting Abu Dhabi. There's not much to worry about there.

When you send us a invite to your gaffOut of curiosity when do you and Pep next meet up?
Pep doesn't have to change shit, he needs players that fit his system better.Hiya Marv.
How can we 'start well' but concede a 'soft goal'? - that's contradictory. The fact it was also their first 'attack' ( I use the term loosely as it was actually a counter facilitated by Toure's ludicrous free kick) makes it more so.
My observation on challenges / 2nd balls whatever you want to call it is not based solely on this game but on several since we began to dip in form. Pep himself confirmed 'I don't coach tackling'. To me it's evident the team is not drilled to win 50/50s and 2nd balls. This is fine if you're peak-era Barca and you have the ball that much it becomes irrelevant. We're not peak-era Barca.
Liverpool's bus parking didn't help I agree but surely a 'genius' such as Pep should be finding ways to circumvent this tactic? Didn't he face parked buses every week with Barca and Bayern?
I disagree re the effort particularly in the 1st half. We had nowhere near the intensity they had - and this is certainly not the first time we've gone behind due to slack starts.
We lost a tight game yes and yes the defence has a part to play in the loss, but tight games are also decided by good attacking play - we showed very little of that today, so to blame the defeat purely on the defence is shortsighted.
Pep isn't as good as he thinks. His choice now is either to adapt or fall on his own sword.
We'll what I expected to happen happened.
Total tippy-tappy rubbish without shots v or. penetration and we conceded from the first chance they had.
If Pep can't see what is going to happen when he plays those tactics then he really isn't as good as I thought he was.

Yes, we've all heard the public comments that this is a long term plan and I also point out to people that I believe SM is here for a long time. But a part of me thinks there's a small possibility that he may move on to other projects. No but his representatives have made it quite clear this is a long term project and every action has backed that up so there is zero foundation for suggesting we need to worry about Mansour selling up any time soon.
Happy New Year Tim, See you Monday
