Ok , but why bar man united??
They don't have a midfield :P

I just hope we can keep Sahin some how, I was jumping around like a little girl when he came. I personally think with a fit Lucas, we have one of the best midfield's in the league, we usually keep the other big teams quiet there, its just the finishing and those random moments of suicidal defending that cost us a lot of games, where the other team will get one shot the whole match but score it, we will have 10+ and get none.

City , chelsea , arse have better mid's in that order , i have to agree skrtel's been shaky this season and reina's past his best :( , time to replace him with butland kid
I cannot see you keeping Sahin unless you make the Champions league. As for comparing midfields are you talking about the squad or just the first team? Tottenham's first choice midfield of Sigurdson, Dembele and Sandro is not bad. Without Wilshere I don't see much difference between your midfield and Arsenal's.

Your lack of options up top is a real worry though. The kids are doing well, but there is only so much you can play a kid, before you start doing damage.

Sahin is not affordable , earns £120000 at madrid , won't come for less here . unless we qualify for champions league , there is no chance he will want to stay but maybe we will do something with the increased tv money to keep him

Comparing best 11's midfield there

Agree with your assessment of the Liverpool first choice midfield being 4th then. The good thing about Liverpool is that Rogers now has an understanding of what he wants to do. Carroll, Downing, Enrique and maybe Henderson could be sold to raise some cash. With the youth players coming through. Think next year is when you have a great shot.

In my opinion the following teams have a better midfield than Liverpool:

City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Everton, Newcastle and yes even the rags.

As has been pointed out they have only won 1 game in the league this season and that was against a terminally ill Norwich outfit.

Liverpool are like Stoke in that they'll be difficult for the big teams to beat at home but will fodder for them when playing away. Last season we drew away to both of them and destroyed them at The Etihad, the same will happen this season.

I promise I am not responding with my blue glasses on but United's midfield is not better than Liverpool's. It is cobbled together with pensioners, malcontents, not-quite-good-enoughers, and a few younger players that could come good but are definitely not there yet. The only player I would have in our squad from theirs is Kagawa. And perhaps Valencia, but he is an out-and-winger.

United's midfield is preposterously weak at the moment. Their wingers, strikers, and referees are carrying them at the moment but as we have seen any team with a good combative midfield can run right through them (Everton, Spurs, Liverpool - the latter would have won or drawn if not for that red card). Even Galatasaray looked better than them and were unlucky. I'm rubbing my hands together for the derby, if we have found some form by then it will play right into our hands with all that space in midfield.

In terms of CMs only, I'd say ours is better than all of those you mentioned bar City and Arsenal. We've dominated every game we've played in so far, losing due to not being clinical, poor defensive lapses, or shit refereeing.

You would trade Mikel, Lampard, Ramires for your midfield players? I wouldn't!

I would say Chelsea have the worst midfield out of the top teams in England. United, City, Spurs, Arsenal, and Liverpool all have better midfields.

what games are u watching then.. United have probably the worst mid field out of all of the "top sides". Liverpool are starting to play some great stuff but there lack of striker converting from that posetion play is there main problem. i would honestly say Chel and city have better mid then Liverpool and i think they will drop down 1 place behind arsenal when will shear comes back.

-- Wed Oct 03, 2012 9:28 am --

why do you keep placing united in that list. there Midfield is no show and worthless. when united played the "top teams" those teams dominated the midfield and where running the show. spurs got what they deserved and Liverpool got cheated out of three points. i cant wait till they play arsenal and city they will get overrun and destroyed.

Pretty much spot on here. United have the worst midfield out of the top 6 teams and it will remain that way unless Anderson and Cleverly greatly improve.

The Chelsea midfield is a bit underrated too. Ramiries, Mikel and Mata are nothing to sniff at. Ramires is a fantastic player, whilst Mata is world class.
