More to the point, why even have a linesman! From what I've read it was the referee who told him to put it up so he did (several seconds after the goal was scored) just so it could be checked by VAR. The linesman clearly didn't think it was offside but VAR then had to stick with his decision because the camera angles were shit. Ridiculous
Yet more evidence of manipulation and corruption.
A simple readymade solution - make the ref, linesmen, 4th official, VAR room, all be publicly mic’d up and in camera, with unedited full recordings being publically available.

but ‘strangely’ , this simple idea isn’t implemented , nor discussed or brought up even fleetingly by any pundits/commentary/media.

‘You’ll never work in this town again’ comes to mind, with the omertà.

apparently, to the letter of the law, that Salah goal can be given as onside (phase of play, intentional this that and the other blah blah).

Thing is, and unbelievably i'm agreeing with Danny Murphy, that exact scenario is flagged offside, whether the ball even reaches Salah (or equivalent) or not, in the league every weekend up and down the football pyramid most of the time. Thereby showing we have either mass misinterpretation of a rule or, at the very least, total inconsistency.
The fact that Salah was where he was is the reason the defender intentionally played the ball. How is that not gaining an advantage? How many defenders would have the presence of mind to not play the ball, and thereby Salah gets flagged offside.
The offside rule needs changing in this scenario, as it's not fit for purpose.

this situation exposes the current ruleset quite starkly

it must be really getting to this thick twat over on rawk, he seems that thick I dont know how he takes in oxygen,....
The result of this investigation is perhaps the most important moment in the Premier League's history. If they do their job properly, the Premier League will find City guilty and punish them to the full extent, which should be relegation and titles stripped, given how much their cheating has altered the landscape of English football for over a decade. They've robbed so many clubs of league titles, FA Cups, League Cups and the European spots that go with that.

If, as I suspect, the Premier League don't do their job and let it slide because it's too damaging to their brand to admit City have been cheating for fifteen years unchecked, then it gives the green light for Newcastle and any other potential sportswashing project to do whatever the hell they want, ruining the top tier of football in this country forever.

What investigation are they referring to?

The PL FFP investigation that has been ongoing for years, which is really just an excuse to scrutinize every aspect of our operations?

Probably a City fan on the wum. No dipper could be that stupid….

@cheekybids @Barcon @twosips

Credit to @waspish for digging up the cuntishness from Klopp directed at our Nedum (that ESPN subsequently tried to sweep under the rug).

As I have said before, it is very difficult to believe that ESPN (and other outlets picking up on it) would not have plastered this exchange every where had it been Pep speaking this way to an ex-Liverpool player interviewing him.

Another example of Scousewashing. Like you say, if that was Pep, it’d definitely not be difficult to find.

You'll snare a few with that.
