Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

Still not that bothered about last night, you could almost have scripted it.

I am trying to find some footage of the referee just before the game kicked off.

He clearly signalled a 3 with his fingers then a 0, then a 3 then a 0 again.

It only caught my attention as I thought it a bit odd - not thinking conspiracy though, just was odd it caught my eye (unless it involves UEFA wanting a cracking comeback in the second leg when we hammer them 6-1)

The fact is - and its been proven on multiple occasions now - if Pep's single pivot (Fernandinho) is overrun then we are in big trouble. We have to play a formation with two DMs, when required, to stop this from happening.
I had thought that Pep was playing Kevin deeper to stop teams doing this. But last night he had Kevin, Silva and Gundogan up field with Fern on his lonesome. A real brain fart
Kevin needs to start alongside Fern with Sane and Sterling tucked in a bit till the level of press diminishes.
Pep is a very stubborn man though.
He’s too stubborn. A man that learnt nothing from his hammerings by Barca and Madrid is as stubborn as you can get. Dinho ain’t a DM, he’s an attacking midfielder who got moved there and cracks every time against Liverpool. We need 3 new CM’s we can’t continue to go in to these type of games without 2 players sitting protecting that defence. It’s suicide.

Bernardo would have been the better choice on the right, but i can understand Pep's thinking with this one. It just didn't work, but our football is always full of risks and i'd rather we did that than play the percentages like those fuckers in Trafford. To quote the X-files; I want to believe.

He's won everything playing the way he does, i think he has an idea what he's doing tbf.

Collectively we were awful but I hope Gundogan never starts a big game for us ever again. The injuries have really taken their toll.

Also, unless he scores tap-ins then Jesus is anonymous. He needs to really do more, few signs of him being a star player.

What happened to our passing? Constantly giving the ball away and panicking.

look at it this way are we ever going to win the champions league with uefa hell bent on stopping us and are liverpool good enough to beat bara or madrid or munich nope. the truth is like many city fans i do not give a shit about champions league and you just know that no matter how good this team can be it will be the officials at uefa will pull something out of the bag and city get knocked out

like last night the linemans could not see salah a yard offside but 3 times city players was flagged offside when clearly onside its little thing like that change the game and the ref also was shocking and did his best to help liverpool and it got to the players. am not hiding from the fact city was poor last night but clearly things got to us from the coach being smashed to the game we just did not turn up

so if you are feeling down don't this team is special and will win the league and at t he end of the season city and pep will have a double in the pockets liverpool will have nothing

He won it with a once in a century team though. He’ll never be able to replicated his Barca side. Got hammered by real and Barca when he was at bayern. Playing this way you’ll always get exposed by the teams with top class attacks. The only way to prevent it is by having 11 elite players. Kompany, otamendi, walker they’re all good players who crumble when pressed. Replace them with Pique Mascherano and Alves and you’d see us playing a lot better. Actually think Laporte should’ve played with Stones yesterday.

We have to swing from no shots on target to score 4 goals, at least. When I put it like that, it shows how unlikely a comeback is.

It is certainly doable, though. That lot are emotionally incontinent, if we score early them will get carried away and try and score in response which could leave them open
