Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

Poor performance from team and management. We knew what to expect and did not turn up. However the team must have been upset about the criminally surrounding the bus incident. Liverpool have history alright but it’s about thuggish behaviour. This could have resulted in serious injury or worse. I honestly think Liverpool should be kicked out of this season’s Champions league and banned for two years. This is the only way to stop this kind of treatment ( incidentally somewhat encouraged by a past Liverpool player) but as we know it won’t happen. Liverpool will probably claim it was the bus drivet’s fault!

Like a true City fan you've gone from talking yourself out of it to saying there's hope, that's not a dig by the way, your post just sums up a typical City fans thought process lol

I started m post thinking we had no chance. By the end of it, I can’t wait for the return leg!!

Nope, still don't feel pissed off after last night.
Only got eyes for Saturday.
Liverpool's cup final part 2, it was always about them.
Couldn't be remotely arsed if we beat them next week or not.
Roll on Saturday.

We need a perfect game on Tuesday, we also need decisions to go our way, and for us to be absolutely clinical.

How do people think we would have fared if we’d have drawn any of the top 3? Similar performance and result or is it just Liverpool we struggle with??

Genuinely think it's just Liverpool we struggle with. Still can't get over the fact we let them run all over us for half an hour despite everyone being fully aware that that is literally Liverpool's only plan in a game against us. We were so casual at times, trying to gently stroke it around when we should have known there was always going to be a liverpool player closing in. It's like we forgot who we were up agianst for a while.

I understand your point, but respectfully disagree. You have to have a plan b, you just have to. Peps style as I’ve said before has been hammered in the CL by Barca, Real and now the dippers. From the first two he should’ve learnt a great deal, he’s learnt nothing. I’m not saying set up fully defensive, we just had to defend a bit deeper and force the dippers to try and pass their way to our goal.
His plan B was to have Gundogan on to hold the ball higher up the pitch and arrive late into their box, it failed obviously, but he's thinking of what else can be done. With these group of players, sitting back and soaking up pressure is not the way to get the best out of them and it doesn't sit with our clubs philosophy just as it doesn't sit with Klopp's. On the flip side, we have hammered teams this season, even good ones, playing the same way. I fully believe that as the team learns from these experiences and they're complimented with a couple different types of players in the summer, we'll be in a much better position next season. You have to go through these moments to evolve as players and if you analyse the game, we made unforced errors and the key players gave the ball away, when they wouldn't usually. Don't get me wrong, i completely understand what you're getting at, but i think we owe it to these players to back them to win games playing this way against anyone, like they've done all season.

everybody is pulling Gundo apart but the team was not balanced from playing laporte at left back and the gap from sane to laporte left us wide open down that side. key things like a leftback like mendy and a striker like aguero and city would have been ready and maybe next week we can have a right go and the tie is not over and barca over turned a 4/0 vs PSG last season so it can be done

This all day long - 90 minutes left - it took us less than five to win the prem with two - three is not a problem - we can do this and if we really mean it when we say the team is great let's see 'em do it come on CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not over yet. Score 1/2 goals in the first half and keep it tight, we can throw the kitchen sink in the second half and see what happens. Even if we go out of the competition, it's important to win the second leg and put a masterclass performance.
Fuucking hope so!
