Liverpool V City post match discussion.

Very relieved to get a point. I think we looked set up to just ensure we got a draw. I think Mancini still thinks Liverpool are the team that dumped his Inter out of the Champions League, which they haven't been for a while. Mind you, I suppose he isn't wrong to be wary. I'll take a point, but definitely think with Aguero, Lescott, Clichy etc in the starting line up we could have won. We are better than them. It's always an ordeal at Anfield, and we've got it out of the way early. Job done, move on. :)

As usual, cheated by a blatantly bad decision at Anfield.

However, a point is OK although the first half was terrible.

As I keep telling the ex-Koppite wife [so I get to read most of his tweets and other proclamations], Rodgers is no where near as good as he thinks he is. By the end of the match, the mickeys here were shaking my hand and wishing they were us [LOL].

So, anyone with me yet for the Tevez Golden Boot [and then he's off]?

That free kick shouldn't have been given, wall should've been better.

Yaya Touré is simply the best player we have, we need cover for him when he goes to ACON.

Dzeko really should've scored tonight.

Very delighted with a point with anfield being one of our bogey grounds, maybe should've been a win but hey can't win them all.

Agüero get back soon please! We are a different team with him because of his technique and his partnership with Tevez.

We will be champions again this season. Believe you blues.

bad day at the office not helped by poor selection, we looked half decent once we went back to 433 and got silva on. I'll still take a point at Anfield any day of the week.

What's clear is our back-up isn't good enough, both kolo and kolarov struggled, milner not looking great. The sooner we bring in a CB and another midfielder the better.

I keep getting slated for making that suggestion EVERY transfer window. The following just aren't good enough: Kolarov, Kolo, Milner, Savic, Nasri, Balo and Lescott isnt world class either.
WE NEED A WORLD CLASS CB above any other signings.

They are good squad player. You wont get better. You van only have so many world class players. But I agree with Milner,Savic,Kolo. i would also prefer if Dzeko was sold. They could be easily improved on. Balotelli is a bit of a liability and if we are honest his suspension probably won City the league. Great player but too hot headed by far.
We could do with a new CB.

I won't be harsh on Mariner (or Marriner), he's very good ref and one harsh foul can't change that. He was very good beside that today too.
He was okay today; under a lot of pressure from the screeching mickeys for every tackle. Apparently there was only one booking (one of the scousers IIRC), so he didn't even book Carlos for lifting his shirt (oo-err missus!) after he scored.

As long as the shirt aint lifted over the head then its fine

The general interpreation of that is that if it goes above the chin its a booking - Tevez did it last week and no booking Nasri however took it over his head and got booked accordingly

Mad rule but thats why he did not get booked

Tevez never get booked for that, that is inside of the rules in PL (not in La Liga for ex.) as he does not lift the short over his head.
Faire enough; I didn't realise the fine points of the rules. I thought you got carded if you lifted your shirt to reveal any sort of message underneath. Thanks for clearing that up gents.

Re: Isnt it the old saying?

Away at a ground where we rarely get anything against a team out to impress their new manager at his first home game I am not too disheartened.

Yes it was a poor performance but we came back from behind twice and I didn't get the impression the City players weren't trying.

We don't have a divine right to win.

Any one got a video capture of the Rodwell hand ball... just on my way home and havent seen it yet..

piss poor display for a team of supposed champions and the manager isnt much better messing around with what was the best defence in the league last season.

Don't think there's much wrong with the formation.

We conceded from a corner and a world class free kick.

there was some desperate running around at the back of our formation today and it looked to give very little confidence to the other players in front of them.

you look at that team today and they didnt look anything like the team from last season,we were damn lucky to come away with a draw today.
