Had a quick glance at Rawk. It does amuse me when fans of clubs like Liverpool, most probably not alive when we were doing our tour of the lower leagues, and quite possibly not been to Anfield more than a handful of times, start to question the character of our support, which remains essentially the same as it was a decade ago.

Champions League games apart, I see little evidence (yet) of the mass invasion of "plastics" at the Etihad, all too evident at Anfield on a matchday. We've earned our stripes in a way I expect they never will. They cannot know how it feels to support a club you've watched lose pitifully at Lincoln in the league, lift the Premier League some thirteen years later - for two very good reasons. So continue to make yourselves feel better by creating a fiction about our support. You'll never have the feeling of your club truly coming back from the abyss to be a leading European footballing force - and one that's here to stay. I'm sure you'll take some comfort in the European Cups you won, in the main, a generation ago.

Many of them think they'll win tomorrow and it's a view that is not unreasonable and that they're perfectly entitled to hold, but in the wider footballing wheel of fortune it's us, as City fans, who've landed the top prize and landing it after the journey we've been on in the last 30 years feels better than they can even begin to imagine.

This is my first post. I feel ashamed that i started supporting this club so late though city is the only club i ever supported. i began supporting city in 2011. but that's because that was also the year i've learned about football. city made me love football. i hope you long time fans would welcome new fans like me. i hope you believe me if i say CTID. because i know in my heart that it is true.

Rag.
The thought did occur. I guess when I said "character of our support" I should have included the word "long-standing".

Just took a look through the rawk thread, apparently we're all glory hunters who only started supporting the club after 2012 and the Sheikh is on par with Hitler.

Less bile than I expected honestly.

Yeah I've just had a quick browse of there Pre-Match discussions. Most of it was quite balanced to be fair. They have every right to be confident with there current form and us likewise. Towards the end a few numpty's compared us to Chelsea as a Plastic club, with a Plastic ground and Plastic fans blah blah blah . Most Liverpool fans I know have always had respect for our fans and predominantly have always got on with each other albeit sharing the same dislike of the scum.

I cant wait and honestly cant call this. Aguero and Zabba (If still injured) out has given me reason to be a little more nervous, especially with the form of Suarez. I just hope our midfield is at it's dominant best and I'm sure we will win the game from over- powering them in the middle of the park. However Danny Murphy made a valid point, of Sturridge being out as a blessing in disguise for them as they would probably shore up the midfield and give more freedom to the likes of Henderson.

Prediction 2-1 City. Hardest game of the season but I think we will just edge it

anyone who has ever been to anfield will know city have quite some way to go before matching them for plastic fans, they are on a par with utd make no mistake about that.

Aye, most of them posting have only come back or started supporting again due to their league position.

And, "we know City can do it at home, but they seem a different team when away from the Etihad"

Welcome to the thunderdome ....do they show much prem football over there in the Philipines..??

oh and by the way,I hope things were not bad for you in the hurricane..

Thanks. No. Unfortunately we only see about one city game a month. I try to stream the games not shown on tv. or just download whole games from the matchday sub-forum.

Lucky for us, our city wasn't affected by the hurricane. Can't say the same to the ones that got hit though. I've volunteered helping there myself and it's a real hell out there for the survivors. But the help we get is quite humbling. I hope the world doesn't tire helping us filipinos cause heck knows our government can't help it's own.

No i'm not a rag. I hate those arrogant cunts with a passion. The money-bag tag is just as worse here in south east asia. I can't bear to watch southeast asian football related shows here because everyone talks smack about us and everybody seems fine about it.

sniff sniff

9 of liverpools wins have come against the bottom half. If they lose to City and Chelsea their
record will be poor against the top teams. Suarez really piles the goals against the lower teams.
Maybe thats normal. They are poor against teams that press them and want the ball.

It's no secret that he statpads against lower teams

Too many jinx worthy comments in this thread, Suarez is going to score a hat-trick against us if this keeps up. :)

Suarez is bound to score but if we perform like we did against Arsenal then we have a great chance of getting the 3 points.

If this pic is anything to go by (the bib-less Navas), we're going to lineup like so

---------Yaya-----Ferna------------

---Navas----Silva---Nasri-----

------------Negredo--------

which would be the right decision, imo.

i think we can't play so high line tomorrow. Even fulham caused problem running through our line. I would take 1-0 more happily than 6-4.

So more liverpool fans are plastics than City fans, even though we've been crap for 3-4 years!?
