Lucas Paqueta investigated by FA for alleged betting breaches

2

The only way it could be finished quickly is if he pleads guilty and takes his medicine. If he fights this it will go on for weeks or months. I fail to see how this deal can be resurrected unless the authorities were to drop it overnight which if the allegations are strong seems unlikely.
Knowing the FA they will drop it and clear him of all charges 1 minute after the transfer window closes

So who do you think blew the whistle to the FA ?

Did we find out and advise the FA or was he already under investigation, which presumably West Ham would have known about and somehow omitted to mention it to us ?
Not sure. Whether City were told & went straight to the FA or City told West Ham, who then went to the FA, or a third party reported it to the FA isn't clear.

But is that really fair on us and West Ham ?
we need to know if we have to look elsewhere and West Ham need to know if they need another player in to replace him.
The impact on West Ham is significantly greater than it is on City.
Assuming that strong evidence points at an offence having been committed, all blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the player.

As matters stand, transfer-wise, I'd much rather be in our position than West Ham's.

You're looking at the FA and expecting something to be fair - oh you ;).
There's little chance an investigation like this doesn't drag on for weeks.
