Madrid v City CL semi final 2nd leg

What an extremely arrogant comment after the batterings weve received from fellow English sides. Our squad is nowhere near as good as you think, you'll realise when pep clears most of them out.
I completely disagree.

Our manager is that bad. He's taken the best and deepest "on paper" squad by far in the EPL and has managed to not only lose the league but put us into dire jeopardy of not even finishing top 4.

Injuries to our squad have played a part... so I could see us reasonably finishing 2nd or a comfortable 3rd... but our actual place in the league (below 3rd if it finishes this way) is the fault of Pellers.

All the other teams in the semi-final draw wanted us. We wanted Real. The quality on show over the two logs showed why. Piss poor football.

It's not that arrogant. If City had been able to field their best 11 and best bench on a regualr basis, this season would likely have gone very differently in the league. If Leicester had endured injury problems equivalent to City's, they probably would have been part of the relegation battle.

I would gut our squad now but a lot of that has to do with age and injury.

I really don't get this Real were average talk: they are not average at all; they remain one of the very best and most able sides in the world and they have been in good form recently. They have more talent at their disposal than City but over both legs they played with a huge amount of respect for City and if they looked beatable, it was because City are not as bad as people make out. That does not mean we should not be disappointed in City's performance or ignore the need for change.

They are not an average side at all; they have class all over the park but I didn't think they were at their absolute best over the two legs and I wasn't overly impressed with them.

Its a myth we have the best squad in the league.

Best squad doesnt have all four full backs over 30
Central Midfielders who are integral part of our 11 over 30 ( toure, dino)
Injury prone best defender and unsettled denfensive partnership throughout the season
One world class striker with a young 19 year old lad as second striker and a mid table striker as our strike force
Decent players as wingers but no way near world class ( sterling, navas)
Silva isnt at world class level any more and he is 30 aswell, nasri is a decent squad player but goes missing every now and then like against sainsts

Has anyone else noticed we always get special offers from MCFC Shop after a bad result. 40% off today :)

We didn't have a clue what to do with the ball. Whenever we retrieve possession our attacks consisted of passing it between the centre backs, holding midfielder and goalkeeper. How Pellegrini has managed to coach all the attacking creativity out of the team is beyond belief.

Which EPL squad do you think is better and deeper than ours?

Line your squad up against City's, player for player, position by position and let's see.

I disagree.

City and Real both were clearly poor.

The ball didn't zip around the pitch.

Passes were frequently mislaid.

Neither side created much in the way of offense.

Neither side really seemed like they wanted to win no matter what.

Both legs were played at walking pace.

So yeah... both Real and City were at best average, if not really poor over both legs.

This is not at all the same as saying that both teams are average.

Real is for me the 4th best team on the planet. City are either 5th or 6th.

But neither team showed their potential in the semi-final legs.

Real were so poor they didnt allow the 5 or 6th best team in europe shot on target? Either we are not 5th or 6th in europe or real played very well
