Les Tate from Gorton mate. Remember him playing football for the gorton mount on annie lee`s playing fields. This rag who was supposed to be a hard nut, turned up with some mates for Les. While the the match was in progress and in full kit Les just jogged off the pitch, vaulted the fence, ran straight over to th e rags and headbutted the hard one one the nose. He sparked him clean out then just jogged back onto the pitch as though nothing had happened. Pure class from the hardest city fan ever.
I knew Les and his sister good lad, remember being with him at the cricket match when it went off, he was a big lad good days

Seems to have been two lads called Les back then? Tate & Cracknell?? which was the one who got in the NOTW for stabbing Chelsea fans at the Bridge?

Les Tate is being deployed as a bit of a hero but stabbing people isn't my idea of brave. Was it Cracknell with the blade?

Fat bastard broke my ankle in the cup at Huddersfield,we equalised late on and the crowd went mental and he fell on my leg.
The transit driver Steve said go to the st.johns get it strapped up I'm not waiting,so went to a twenty first in Ashton with a broken ankle, two anadin and ten pints felt great till the following morning.
The second replay I was on crutches and he started taking the piss when he saw me,if I could have stood up I would have leathered the fat cnut.

Alan Potter?
Now there's a name i haven't heard for a few years!! lol

Not seen Potter for a while. He is an a**ehole in my opinion. My dad told me he used to drive a minibus to away games with a bottle of cider next to him, in the eighties. I Remember mid nineties going with Denton blues and on one occasion going Everton away, one lad needed a piss. He was let off and Potter just said f**k him and got the coach driver to drive off and left him a mile from the ground. Fat b**tard

in answer to bluelloyds post if anybody stabbed chelsea fans it could have been les cracknell. used to come across him quite often at away matches tho' he didn't usually travel with our lot. he was a bit mad so maybe he did stab some chelsea lads. les tate never used a knife to my knowledge. he would just knock you out mate. was a big hard lad les but as i said previously never looked for trouble. but if it came he was good to have on your side.

A guy called Lance who sat in the main stand, upper tier, next to me and my dad.

He was banned and got his ticket back just in time for the last season there. Was always getting told to sit down and shut it.
