Maine Rd terrace characters

I remember Jimmy the mallet and Andy Winnie from Moston I think. Along with George McGuire the three of them launched into a Liverpool escort outside the supporters club , must have been late 70's possibly early 80's, fookin suicide mission ! As it happened a shitload of other Blues got involved and remember Jimmy being seriously pissed off that someone had ripped his sheepskin coat, he went on about it for the rest of the season !These lads were seriously naughty characters but good solid mates too. Don't see any of them anymore, they must all be in their mid, late 50's.

Anyone remember the Cheadle lot, Always used to go in the Clarence Haigy, Big Alan, Alfie, was only a kid when I used to travel about with this lot, always hired the shitest van you could get, no fucking seats just a mattress had some top trips out, they were all daft as fuck! they once took a couple of benches from a boozer on they way to Oxford!!! LOL

Also Cainy & Cagze from Ardwick, Handy lads they were, remember Cainy running into Down town bar in town and kicking off with a load of utd's lads, on his own, one of which had just belted his younger brother with a ashtray an hour before!!!

Big Alan is my uncle, will be with him in Poland.

yes pete white was the lad who smacked tommy doc, used to go with pete to some aways with the irlam & cadishead supporters club

Bob Meehan smacked Tommy Doc hence his " soc the doc " nickname which he hated.

Not heard that for years. Couldn't have happened to a nicer man in my book and allegedly there was also an ex city/utd/city player in close proximity watching it unravel?

M27 how do you remember that !
I was behind the goal when curley scored that pen, the reason I ask you is because my dirty rag mate was in stretford ene and he sed he had never seen a set of fans celebrate a goal like we did that night. We went absolutely raving mental. I got crushed jumped on and stamped on. Lol brilliant night. 10 men you couldn't beat 10 men

Just got proper goose bumps reading this. Best goal celebration I've ever been involved in. Awesome.

Lush van Beer Monsters From Gorton used to go to france for duty free's before every game south of brum, and sometimes before home games.

Never understood why the loons would insist on standing there when it was pissing down and a roof and shelter was 10 yards away. Ps is jacket guy scottish? Someone once told me he was but I've never spoken to him. What's his real name? Any pics? He's a city legend and deserves proper recognition on here

My old fella sat in the North Stand for decades, but always, for cup games, insisted on standing in Windy Corner, even if it was pissing down, even if there was loads of room in the Kippax.....he used to mumble, drenched to his Y Fronts..."the view's just not the same, with all those bleedin' posts in the way......"
