Manchester’s Changing Skyline

This coming so soon after the collapse of the proposed development has left me shocked, shocked I tell you.
Seen all these nutty conspiracy theories online. If that was the case there would be an enquiry as to how said building has burnt down after rejection of said proposal.

Why is every event these days a conspiracy?

Arson 100%. Somebody isn’t happy about not making their money quickly enough.

As somebody who has lived in a couple of these high rise apartments in town, they’re built poorly, in a rush and left to ruin as soon as they’re built.

But as long as the faceless investors make their money, selling them to other faceless investors, to rent for sick profits, and the council gets their cut, then everybody is happy - aside from regular people.

Currently living in one of the ones on a Chester road, it’s less than 3 years old, and it’s fucked already, falling apart, fire safety all over the place, internal doors don’t work, the front and back doors are always broken, the lifts too. The general state of the common areas is a joke.

I’ve been in probably 10 of these over the years, mates flats and what have you and they’re all the same.

It’s going to cause real issues in 10-15 years, when they’re all in a dire state and there’s a surplus of them.

That room with those tables would give me a migraine. You probably know I am most critical of these modern tall buildings, I don’t like most of them however, the above where the buildings have lots of brickwork in them, I find are much easier on the eye and more in keeping with traditional buildings.

It’s such a coincidence how many buildings that have happily lasted decades without catching fire suddenly spontaneously combust within weeks after a property development proposal is unsuccessful
The NW news said the Hotspur Press building is over 200 years old.
