0730hrs - Just took me 30 mins to get from Pendleton island on the east lancs to Salford crescent train station - it's about 500 fucking metres!!!!!!!'

That section of road was closed for a while about 5am I think.

The lack of investment in roads support this. The lack of investment in public transport does not.

In all honesty there are not many reasons to drive through town and it is the most un-cycle friendly of cities. But what do they do with all the cars the residents of all the new build flats have? Residents only? The council need to invest big time in park and ride or drop off points and start an expedited expansion of the vanity project, Metrolink. It needs to go to the villages of Saddleworth, Bolton, Stockport, Wigan, Denton and a circle line is a must. Stop fucking about taking it via the town hall to look continental and get it to where people will use it to cut congestion and give people options. Try getting some staff on the trams as well to cut ASB and fare dodging and you might find more people will use it.

Its not the flats that are the issue - the people in them are walking to work on the whole.

Car sharing is the way forward, mopeds and better puplic transport. Including an underground. Maybe we cant do it in the City Centre but we can certainly do it along the main routes into town I am sure.

The only thing they are clogging up is the canals...

Funny yer should say that yatt! I've cycled mile after mile down our canals and only ever spotted one bike in a canal - one of those orange ones that have been kicked off the Manchester streets.

I had lunch in Whitefield on Sunday then got a cab to town to watch the match in the Waldorf. It was like traffic I would expect during the week. I couldn't believe how busy it was at 3:30pm on a Sunday afternoon

Manchester seems to be incredibly fast to the car park that is the M6.
Left home at 11:45 on Friday and got to Knutsford about an hour later. There was a 64 minute delay between junction 19 and 18, so we headed towards Northwich then Middlewich and on to Sandbach and re-joined at junction 17.
Then the next delay was an hour and 26 minutes between J16 and J14, which the sat nav rerouted us for. I figured the hold up earlier might make it easier so stayed on and got through with about a 20 minute hold up.
Then got delayed going onto the M5, it was actually quicker to miss the turn off, go to the next junction then come back up.

I was on this today. Who decided that doing almost 50 miles of roadworks in one go was a good idea. It’s horrendous.

I think I’ve used it twice, during the day time, in the last five years. Try to go across to the A1 instead.

Was on the m60 at 7.30 pm last night still said 50 miles per hour on the slip road approach, too many cars now doesn’t matter what time your on the motorway from 5.30 am until 9pm at night it’s choca

Anyone get stuck in the jam last night because of the rags game and the roadworks they are doing on Regent Road? Gridlocked one side of Manchester and a 40 minute journey on a bus took nearly 3 hours. I hope the fuckers dont end up in the europa league would mean a few more journeys home like last nights.
