Mancini ; I stay at City

Dont forget that we will probly have 4-6 more players in our squad. + Jo and Swp + Tevez maybe sold.

I dont think our squad will be changed much..no key player expect Tevez will leave. But we will get a few players more. The squad qill be much stronger next season + full pre-season will do miracles to the gelling.

I expect us to be strong title challengers next season.
My expectations are that we will push hard for an attack-minded midfielder and another CB keeping our options open at that position. Besides that I reckon we will look to reinforce the squad.

I'm beginning to feel that way too.

A captain, who couldn't be arsed to come to his club's first FA Cup semi-final for 30 years should be ashamed of himself, IMHO.

However, great news on the Bobby Manc front, if this is true.

Personally, even if we fail on both fronts (lose final and fail to finish top four), I would like Mancini to stay.

We need stability and to give a manager time to build his own team. In the 40+ years that I have been following the Citizens, there has been far too much instability.

I think this thread shows that certain posters have not got a clue about the modern game .
The days have gone where it's a case of we score 5 if they score 4 , in the modern game both players and manager have to be tactically aware and astute hence the reason why certain players have gone .
If you can't see the great job Mancini is doing you must be thick or not have a clue about the modern game ...
He's completely transformed the club and if we win the cup and finish top 4 it's been an amazing season in which we will take into the next season where we'll challenge for the title ..

-- Thu Apr 28, 2011 3:53 pm --

I think this thread shows that certain posters have not got a clue about the modern game .

and the scum nearly got held at home to a non league side, these things happen in football, try and get over it

so cos united almost draw with crawley we should be grateful of our shortcomings?

nope sorry, you've still lost me.

ok let me try again. Every team, however good they are, have poor performances. We had 2 poor performances v Leicester and Notts County away, BUT we got through them, and from what I remember we stuffed them in the replays. Like the scum were apparently shit v crawley and still got through. And they aint a bad team, and we beat them AND ARE STILL IN THE FA CUP, UNDER MANCINI - that's what I meant.

We have also had other poor performances but the manager has been in the job just under a year and a half. Yes the club has spent £300M, but of that amount Robinho, Adebayor, Bellamy, Bridge, Santa Cruz etc are not at the club anymore, and a lot of the others were bought by a different manager. Personally I did not like hughes but I was not forever (and you never stop) on here bleating against him, because I recognise we need continuity of management. I do not agree with everything Mancini does but I recognise he has had some major issues to deal with - inherited difficult players with big egos, players who did not want to see the previous manager go, the expectations of being the richest club in the world, generally negative (and consistently intrusive) press, and a huge turnover of players into and out of the club over the last 3 years, etc. I think the manager has done well and deserves our full support to move us into the next season, during which I think the likes of Boateng, Kolorov, Milner, Dzeko, Balotelli will be a lot more effective - these things take a little time, have a little patience

One thing we should not forget is that winning breeds belief from a player's point of view. Win the FA Cup or get to the Champion's League (or hopefully both) and you'll see a different team and different team spirit from the start of next season.

very good point and i so hope you are right.

i for the life of me remember the rags playing like brazil in the first few years of slurs reign, it was only when teams were convinced that they were this all conquering allstar team that the open football started and then only in fits and starts

If we get 4th and win the cup (that will be a monkey off our back for starters) he (Bert) should have his own players he sees are able to do the job (win prem) especially with the five new arrivals we seem to have in the pipeline. A fully motivated squad who have achieved it once with sucess it will be a walk in the park compared to this season with all the rumblings and unrest we have had.

who are the 5 in the pipeline Rammyblues? My view would be that 5 is too many as we will not get the stability we need - 2 or 3 top class additions I would have hoped, not 5?
